Buhari continue with your super infrastructural policy projects and never listen to wailers and haters speeches.
However my advice is that its operations should not be handled by Nigerian Railway workers alone rather its operations should be P P P, Private Public Practice operations or else if Public alone the end of its operations will be like that of the old way operations systems of chop I chop.

Not bad for a start. Hope they can get something similar to virgin train in the UK.

Are you saying that because our primary schools are similar to UK primary schools and all our children are enrolled in government primary schools, like in the UK?
Or what is the basis of your hope

Sure but privatization in a country with a GDP per Capita of 2,028.18 USD ( 2020) is not privatization, it is simply a transfer of assets from a mismanaged public sector to rent seeking vested private interests. There are better models.

Please what are the better models for this multi ethnic geographical area that Luggard joined together in a marriage of convenience to the colonial masters

It would be a Big shame though if amaechi leaves in 2023 and the south south does not have a good rail network.

He loses the credibility to run for any Federal office as a Niger deltan.
. Iyou cannot eat your cake and have it.. So he is no longer Judas? Or in an evil demonic party.. Let people who appreciate him first eat before people who hate him will see food chop.. Or they did not know he was from Naija delta when he was suffering the abuses?

Simple set up three companies for rail track, coaches and licensing. For rail track favour rail and transport service workers 50+1% then list on the stock exchange for to provide exits for rail and transport workers. Maintenance company to be outsourced to top 10 international company vetted by World Bank. For licensing remain 60% government.

The difference between this and your straight privatisation is that rail and transport workers get huge returns with multipliers to the base of the pyramid. This paves way for any necessary redundancies by new operators. All I vested interests 40% on rail revenues and completely outsource maintenance.

A straight privatisation does not benefit the country, the workers or the consumers.

Forget this talk of marriage of convenience. A 100y marriage is not easily dissolved. That's extremist thinking that leads nowhere. Better to work for fiscal and political federation

Sentiment apart, virgin train @UK or Gautrain @ South Africa are the ideal 24 century fast train that connects Urban cities. Nigeria should start rising to the challenges of the modern technology, in lieu of being the giant of corrupt nation's.

The December final launch date loading... with connection to the Apapa Seaport.
Hope this will take care of some of the heavy traffic in Lagos as from 2021.

Something good in the horizon for all.
