Except for rice and other items that are now more difficult to bring into the country through the borders, what have we really gained from the decision? It has not really stopped Boko Haram from gaining ground.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:

though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;

though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
— Isaiah 1:18

This is an open invitation. No matter how terrible of your sins, God wants to make you clean.... White as snow.

He wants to forgive. He wants to give you a holy living.

This invitation expires the moment you breathe your last.

Accept Jesus today. Tomorrow maybe too late.

Make them open the border abegi, local rice is more expensive compared to imported ones, Nigerians are very greedy, Buhari closed the bother so that we can patronise local content but my people see this as opportunity to turn billionaire overnight.
Imported rice still coming through nothern borders, if you don't believe me, go to iddo Market, you'll see trucks full of rice coming from North

We need to change our mentality.. To progress.
Seriously the government can't really do much without our mentality change.

I don't know how close the border is but I know foreign rice plenty for town

on mali

Mali is in top 20 gold-producing nations in the world and has 50 gold mines but with no gold reserves.
France has one of the world's biggest Gold Reserves in the world with zero gold mines!
Figure it out!

Yet, commendations have continued to trail the closure. For instance, the President of National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), Mr. Lucky Amiwero, is of the opinion that while the border closure is against international treaties and protocols Nigeria entered into willingly, but the action has so far proved to be the most potent approach to tackling the several years of massive smuggling of goods from Nigeria’s neighbouring countries into Nigeria and smuggling of Nigerian fuel to those countries.

Amiwero, who noted that smuggling has been a major challenge to the Nigerian economy, submits that: “if this operation is sustained till at least the end of the year, the Nigerian economy will feel the impact in a very positive way while the West African countries which over the years depended on allowing their countries to be smuggling routes in and out Nigeria will be forced to re-strategise on ways to ensure the survival of their economies,” he said.

Wasn't it in the North that an arms smuggler was lynched to death on his way to deliver bullets to bandits?

Where were the border controls there?

The only thing you are concerned with is revenue collecting money from bribes that you will eventually pocket.

It hasn't, 9 billion naira in one day yet Ipokia local government looks like utter crap, barely a functioning road.

People still cross the border but now instead of smugglers having to pay everyone has to pay to cross.

The stupid Army, Police and Customs men sitting at the border reading newspapers and eating chin chin will be setting up checkpoints every 50 metres with no other mission than to collect money.

The problem is we dont have the capacity to produce rice that will meet our demands. Look at corn and beans. Why dont they import it? Becauseanyine who imports such is wasting his time. I don't know what the problem is. Whether its the wrong soil or we dont have the right crop but rice cultivation is not as profitable as people think

Smuggling of rice is still going on. You cannot beat smugglers to their games. In my place they operate well through water ways.
