Former CAN PRESIDENT, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor was caught in South Africa with almost 10 million dollars in his private Jet not up to a decade ago. Though he claimed the money was meant for the purchase of arms for the Nigerian State, it is enough evidence that millions of dollars which are unrelated to the duties of churches and mosques ,as stipulated in their articles of assoiciation and constitutions, are dumped with these religious leaders for businesses they would have no duty with in an organized country.

Let's leave the issue of Churches since there are evidence of their money laundering schemes for public officials. The United States of America which leads the global fight against terrorism have opined that for a successful resistance against Islamic extremism and terrorism to be achieved, regimes in every continent of this planet must monitor finances and prevent terrorism sponsorship. To fight a monster, it is pertinent to target its head not tail. When there are no funds to propagate the terrorist ideology to the most rural enclaves or pay fighters to cause havoc, the enemies of this country will be subdued.

The board of the Corporate Affairs Commission are well represented both on tribal and religious lines. This law does not in anyway specify churches. It literally states "NGOs and Religious bodies."

This means if IRAN sends funds to Shite Muslims in Nigeria for any purpose but officially says it is for building of Mosques , roads construction or building of a world class hospital, the Government of Nigeria will ensure that the funds are used for those purposes and no money is channeled for arms purchase. If SAUDI ARABIA sends funds to an Islamic Humanitarian Organization in Yobe or Zamfara, this bill will give the Corporate Affairs Commission authority to demand annual bank statements of these Organizations and trace the expenditure of their funds.

Remember, it's a legislation and will remain same even when a Christian PRESIDENT is elected. Similar legislations have been enacted in most developed nations. Only those who negate the concept of accountability will be irritated by this relevant amendment.
I'm sorry to say, but this write up here is looking like thrash. I only have one question for you, Please tell me the function and roles of SCUML and EFCC

Oh, so they can endure every nonsense being dished out to them outside their country?
At that time, they won't remember their favorite slogan, "The church of God cannot be controlled by the government", or scream that it's an attack against the church. It's only here in Nigeria where every nonsense is allowed they have mouth.

Man, I got first hand information before the media reported that incidence.

There are many companies that have Jets to lease in Nigeria example Execujets , why didn't the Presidency hire one of those if it did not want to use one of the many Presidential jets wasting in the hangers?

The Pastor's jet was used for cover. It officially landed in South Africa for "missionary work."

They believed that by using a Jet identified as that of a pastor who is the head NIGERIA's Christianity, the jet would be free from search . The minister gave out his Jet for a covet mission. It's like Italy hiring the private jet of the pope to buy weapons The only reason for that is that no one would ordinarily want to search the Pope's plane.

You have no first hand information of the incident as exposed from your comment. You have no idea of the situation at all. You don't know anything about security, you don't know anything about international evangelism. The Israeli onboard the Jet got SA Visa. It was those Boko Haram supporters in Nigeria who wrote US not to sell Arms to FG to fight Boko Haram that created the problem. It was never in the landing permission granted by the SA Civil Aviation Authority that the Jet was carrying Pa Oritsejafor. The occupants were fully declared. The money was detected at arrival lounge.

Boko Harams and bandits sponsors are yet to be detected. No Islamic country regulates funds for terrorism. Islamic banking models and various AIDS from Islamic Development Bank and other Islamic agencies are not regulated by any Islamic country. ISWAP has large donor funds and operations, FG is not doing anything but it is Church with major operations in the South they want to monitor. They want to cause religious war.

If Wike had been the governor whose invitation as panelist was cancelled by NBA instead of El - Rufai, there would not have been any chaos. The government want to create problem

It baffles me how Muslims are quick to criticize leadership of Christians but will not tolerate same for their leaders and religion. To think that the behind the curtain passage and signing or CAMA was done by a president that has failed to sign the PIB act is counfunding . What happened to adequate consultation with stakeholders?Does he think we are still under military regime? Who is trying to benefit from distabilising Nigeria?

The loyalty of Mr President to Nigeria as an entity is being put to test once again, I hope he will choose a stable Nigeria to a divided country with strive?

Don’t say what you don’t know because half of the truth is a lie, don’t mislead people sir.
Get your facts right,or let me tell you some of what really happened,he was never caught with any money, secondly the company that manages the jet come out to defended Pastor Ayo and stated categorically that of a truth the Jet belongs to pastor Ayo but the jet is under lease by the firm.
So whatever cargo the Jet carries shouldn’t be much of Ayo’s issue .
The federal government came out and claim ownership of the money ,And pastor Ayo as at the time of this controversy stated that he has never boarded the jet for any trip.

Why will govt just remove board of trustees of an organization without any logical reason. Sentiments just keep clouding people's thought process in this country. Are you aware that the "Pastor" in question owns and run a Burea De Change?
Are you aware that a lot of people will be paying their money into his company's account, for convertion into another currency another currency and that does not make them a Criminal?
Are you aware that unless those transactions come from Magu, in Magu's name and the money used for them are stolen money, you cant accuse the Pastor or magu of any wrong-doing?

Pause and think, before you respond! Most Nigerians, especially the nairaland Indomie generation lack that ability so please do so.

Thank you for this angle to the issue.
Apart from the PIB, which he wont sign until all natural resources in the Suth of Nigeria are put under Northern Control the last one being the Bitumen in Ondo State while the Gold in Zamfara is being mined into private pockets of Northernenrs, the President has also refused to sign the Amended Electoral Bill into Law, since 2018 yet he will be the first to say Politicians are violent and buying votes.

Go and read and do your research properly, the money in question was not Magu's money, the money was not in the Pastors personal and private bank account, the money was customer's money in the Pastors Company which is a Bureau de Change Company.

That the man is a Pastor and a friend to Magu, is inconsequential, magu also has Imams as friends or are you not aware that he is still a Muslim?

The supervision of NGOs and other entities is a useful tool in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing.
NGOs can't be receiving funds without accounting for the source and purpose of such.

It is. But the amendment is of no effect to Islamic organizations. The structure of Islam aligns pretty well with the government.

History shows that so called regulations have been used as backdoor to prosecute vandettas against Christian organizations e.g Obazee introduction of regulations to particularly 'dethrone' Adeboye.

But CAN was at the public hearings and there was no complaints that new clauses were padded into the then bill either by the NASS or the presidency before assent.

How many of our duly passed law do we need to subject to immediate review or suspension without any backlash from foreign observers?

There is enough evidence that millions of dollars which are unrelated to the duties of churches and mosques ,as stipulated in their articles of assoiciation and constitutions, are dumped with these religious leaders for businesses they would have no duty with in an organized country.

These people are very selfish, CAMA isn't only for Christians but for religious bodies and NGOs. Shiite account was closed since their rebellion against government to prevent the foreign aid they're receiving while other religious bodies are getting funds from evil sources in disguise of NGOs & human rights group. Why are these people complaining abt it contrary to the content of the law which is clearly a process to sanitise money transaction in the country.
If it's Muslim saying this they'd have started spitting nonsense.

Honestly it's now that I understand everything about this, thank you.
I pray that should be the motive of Nigerian government towards this.

There is enough evidence that millions of dollars which are unrelated to the duties of churches and mosques ,as stipulated in their articles of assoiciation and constitutions, are dumped with these religious leaders for businesses they would have no duty with in an organized country.

Let's leave the issue of Churches since there are evidence of their money laundering schemes for public officials.
