Igbos are the luxury bus owners and they detest obeying the law, especially in states other than their own. They prefer to have bus stations of their own away from government eye, in order to avoid any form of taxation and even the small entry fee for government revenue. Recently stolen children and consignment of weapons have been found in east bound passenger vehicles traveling to the East. They are very stubborn outlaws and a dubious group . I think Ganduje is treating them with kid gloves. |

sbaks: This is no big issue. They are safer in their own region. What are they looking for in Kano. You cannot come to another region and dictate how to operate there. Its either you comply or move out 3 Likes 1 Share |

But why would the government outrightly relocate the entire transport business away from where it is most profitable to the businesses on the one hand and useful to the affected people on the other hand? The government can regulate how many buses are kept in the park at any given time and so on but to relocate them completely makes no sense!!! What with all the security risks when the rioters come calling as usual. That alone is more worrisome. After all, every business in Kano tries to have a presence in Sabon Gari. joelbooks: |

Basher8583:Nigeria belongs to all. Hausas are also free in enugu (if you've been there to know better). Yes there are laws but reason for their protests is safety (mind you a lot of igbos were born in Kano and by law they are Kano indigenes as hausas born In enugu are enugu indigenes also by law). No where should be unsafe for any tribe or race Especially to do business. It's very primitive. Ask Dubai, Saudi and china (Mind you this isn't about religion now). It's safer for a law abiding non-muslim to do business in Saudi than Kano. Much safer. Kano people are primitive please. |

sbaks: If you tell the hausas domiciled in Enugu to comply with Enugu laws or leave trust me they will not make noise as you are doing now. The problem with Igbos is thier stubborness. And that's what's really messing that region up. Its why you all feel marginalised because no one wants problem with a stubborn relative. Like I said dont go waking up trouble in Kano. You were not forced. The way the govt went through the legal extent shows there's more to the issues than what the igbos are ranting. Comply or leave. 2 Likes 1 Share |

blackgold90:it's not easy to just move, moving them out of sabon gari is like moving all international flights from Lagos to Kaduna. 1.passengers -95% of luxury bus passengers are non northerners (Igbo's,Yoruba's mostly people from the south.) 2.security- most non northerners live in and around sabon gari for security reasons and are not comfortable venturing far into kano due to security volatility. the luxury bus companies are not stubborn everyone is just scared. |
