There's no sense in what he is saying. You can only advice national assembly not to approve non important loans.

How will there be sense in it when you can't think. What's in his letter that doesn't make sense to you?

They should first make sure that the Lagos - Ibadan standard gauge rail as well as other SW projects are completed before they start their political loan battles.

Una wan develop with big and impactful infrastructural projects, yet una no get money and una still dey argue over loan money wey the terms still dey reasonable. Na ona sabi.

Talking like a first class illiterate.

Compare the monies this govt has borrowed and what they have done with such monies.

Borrowing is not bad. But when people who are borrowing such monies will embezzle such money, then no need to borrow anything.

We are good in consuming with little or no productivity... cheesy grin grin

It’s one thing to make spurious allegations and it’s another thing to provide facts. Can he list projects that are not income producing or not viable as he claimed? Then we can evaluate such. It’s just like that man that wants to be relevant and claimed that the market Fulani people told him that a governor is behind Boko Haram. That’s why we need laws to prosecute those making inflammatory remarks or pepper soup joint or a shawl joint remarks.

Yimu. If na so e easy China go don take over America because America owes more debt to China than any other country. How much money Nigeria don borrow wey una dey make noise? Those that don't want the loans for deve make dem allow the rest wey wan collet am collet am. Debt is a viable instrument of financing as long as it is used for what it is meant for. Every big corporation and billionaire has taken on debt. Your business can never expand and grow exponentially without debt. You people should stop these political scare tactics over this debt matter.

Compound illiterate. Do you know the mechanisms by which the US owes China.

Do you think the US signs a contract with China that if they can't pay back the loan, China can seize any infrastructure that the loan will build in the US?

Now, let's compare the amount of money this govt has borrowed and what they have done with the money.

You dull sha! Stop displaying high level ignorance on social media. It doesn't mean China will start ruling the country. It only means that the Chinese will take over the running of such infrastructures built with their loan which is bad for any sovereign nation.

Do you know the problem with us? Nobody want to take responsibility, tomorrow another person will continue from where PMB stopped and will continue talking about our past leaders. if you catch a thief now, he will remind you of ppl who have stolen in the past but still walking around free. I felt bad that our senator received 20million as covid 19 allowance each, house of Representatives 15 million each but can they give account on how they use the monies on palliative, the answer is "NO." The level of evil in this country is nothing to write home about, politics is now the most lucrative industry in Nigeria.

Re: Loans: Atiku Moves To Stop Buhari by chukxie(m): 2:07pm On Sep 01, 2020
First off, Atiku has done the right thing as a concerned citizen of Nigeria because in all honesty Nigeria ought to be wary of the loans it is getting from China or anywhere else for that matter. Borrowing to finance tangible, profitable and necessary projects is a step in the right direction. Almost every country is in debt as illustrated in the link below.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/countries-by-national-debt#:~:text=United States of America %28National Debt%3A %2419.23 trillion,of its GDP%2C followed by Greece at 181.78%25.

The problem however, is that the peculiarity and corrupt nature of Nigeria make it easy for politicians to loot monies borrowed purposely for infrastructural development.

Nigeria isn't "loaning" money. No! It is borrowing money. China does the loaning while Nigeria does the borrowing. A somewhat perpetual borrower Nigeria has become. Running at the slightest excuse cap-in-hand and kowtowing to China for money it (Nigeria) oftentimes has in the first place.
