Oil was king in the analog 20th century.... that was the time for us to have our own refinieries. Why now in the digital 21st century when cobalt is king? It is good to build refineries (although we have arrived very very late to the party) but it is better to build steel Mills.

There is no developed country in the world that imports steel. Steel mills are one of the signs of a strong domestic economy.

When you talk about exporting refined products you are talking of battling an external market which involves other players but when you talk of steel Mills you are talking of what grows an economy from within.

We need more Abdulsamad's and Aliko's in this country to build more factories and refineries for the economic development of Nigeria through job creation, import substitution, forex generation etc.
