Hi family. I recently saw this error notes on my Es350 Lexus,I took it to the mechanic I use when I was using my corola and he said he will have to jack the car up before he could check. I declined Please what does oil maint reqd stands for and what do I do ? 1 Share

Why not google the above subject online ? You may get feedback from previous users of the ES350 in other countries. Any fault developed in a car will surely be present elsewhere. I always check Acurazine for my own. |

Bro service your car, that is what it means, change your oil and oil filter and the error code should clear off. It's the same thing as the corolla, after servicing your car, there's a certain number of miles you can drive and the maintenance required light (the red light above the fuel liigh indicator) will come on meaning you need to change the oil. |

Deathisfree: I wanted to assist you, but since you said "Lexus owners", I can't because I no longer use a Lexus. 7 Likes |

First I'm not a Lexus user. I'm an automobile technician. Then to the problem, it means your vehicle is due for oil change, pls use the right oil spec, it's very important. After changing the oil. A reset procedure has to be done, or else the oil maintenance warning won't go away. |

Pardon me cos I'm not a Lexus owner. But OIL MAINT REQD means Oil Maintenance Required. So you'll need to service your car with the manufacturer required oil viscosity and the right oil filter. PS: Don't forget to buy some 3k fuel also 4 Likes |

Deathisfree:Pls note that the "maintenance required" light illuminates on the instrument panel of the Lexus 350 every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. This light is to remind the car owner that it's time to have the Lexus serviced for an oil change and, depending on mileage, any other recommended maintenance service procedures listed in the manual. If you want to reset the light to go off follow these steps. Step 1 Press the odometer/trip button on the instrument panel until "Trip A" displays the actual mileage of the Lexus. Hold the button down until the reset procedure is complete. Step 2 Place the key in the ignition, and turn it to the key-on/engine-off (KOEO) position. The KOEO position is two clicks forward in the ignition switch and will empower the accessories without the engine running. Step 3 Watch the odometer setting until six dashes are displayed. Each one will blink off. When the last one blinks off, the reading displayed on the odometer/trip button will display 000000 and voila, the oil maint reqd notification/light is gone Note Some Lexus 350 models feature ignition start buttons without ignition keys. The procedure to reset the maintenance required light is the same, but to get to the KOEO position, press the start button twice while holding the odometer/trip button, then wait for the dashes to count down and display the six zeros. On these models, make sure you're not stepping on the brake pedal at the same time, or the reset procedure will not be accepted 1 Like |

I also observed that that car is on ignition, the rpm shouldn't be there. Start the car so that other check engine light will go off. |

Deathisfree: You need to look for a better mechanic. Your mechanic is a quack... THIS MEANS YOUR CAR IS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE, you will need to change the oil and reset the maintenance light if it is still on.... 2 Likes |
