I know we have beautiful places in Nigeria. But the fact is that when you compare the resources in Nigeria to that of Rwanda. And you measure our level of development you'll realise that Nigeria is a waste land.

All these years with so called fertile land and crude oil, we are still a third world country. That's insane.

1. Rwanda has better power supply than Nigeria
2. Better infractural development
3. Has a national airline
4. Cleanest country in Africa
5. One of the fastest developing economies in the world
6. One of the least corrupt countries in the world
7. Better business/tech hub/start up environment
8. An average Rwandan resident earns higher than an average Nigerian resident.

So, list reasons why you think Nigeria is better than Rwanda.

Have you been there.

I have been to rwanda before with coursemates for cultural exchange in 2017.

Pls Rwanda is full of untarred road, you can not compare Rwanda with Nigeria, all because they show you pic.

We were in Butare in southern province of Rwanda and that place can not even be compared with ogun state.

Kigali infrastructures isnt even up to ogun state.

Pictures can be really deceiving. RWANDA IS OVER RATED, BORING COUNTRY.

I've been to Rwanda, not just Kigali but unlike you people, I didn't just stay in the rich touristy parts of Kigali. What I went there for also took me to the interior parts of the country where the masses live.

Rwanda does not have better power supply than Nigeria. The only place with good power supply in that country is the capital city Kigali. The rest of the country remains in darkness. Rwanda focuses all their power, infrastructure, money in one single tiny location (Kigali) while Nigeria spreads it out across 36 states and FCT. If Nigeria decides to do same and focus all our power supply on key cities like Lagos, Abuja and PH while leaving the rest of the country in darkness, foreigners will visit Lagos and say there's constant electricity, but that won't change the reality that majority of the country still remains in darkness. The percentage of Rwandans with access to electricity is just 34%.

Again, the only place in Rwanda with infrastructure is Kigali, and even Kigali's infrastructure is at best, on par with infrastructure in key places of Lagos and Abuja and other state capitals. Apart from Kigali and few roads leading to important places around the country, most roads are not even paved.

I guess Rwanda is also better than the US and Brazil because it has a national carrier while the US and Brazil don't. Air Peace alone is bigger than Rwandair. AirPeace has a fleet size of 23 planes while Rwandair has just 12.

It's a known fact that Rwanda is ready to do anything to look good, they spend heavily on PR. It's the same country that has been accused of rigging their economic data like what they did with poverty statistics, making them appear to be falling, when in reality, they are actually falling. What this also implies, is that Rwanda's already abysmal economic data like GDP per capita, electricity access etc, could even be worse in reality.

The average Rwandan does not earn anywhere near the average Nigerian. Rwanda has a GDP per capita of $770, putting it worse then Haiti at $860. Nigeria is at $2200. The minimum wage in Nigeria is $1000 per annum. In Rwanda, it's (100RWF) $0.11 per day, that is $39.6 per annum assuming one works 30 days a month.

And the people can't tell the world the reality on ground because if they do, they'll be locked up by the dictator running their country. Look at him calling a country poorer than Haiti, Singapore of Africa. Mtcheeeeew. What will you now call Mauritius?

you are right!!
it seems kegame's propaganda machinery has been moved to Nigeria, you know a lot of Nigerians do not read wide, they always believe anything thrown at them without doing underground checks

1. Asides Kigali, Rwanda is nothing, a visit to Kibuye or Gisenyi or any other town will show the real face of Rwanda.

2. Kigali is 70% work of the Chinese

3. Rwanda has one of the most repressive government in the world, Buhari is a saint compared to Kegame.

4. kegame is so obsessed with a positive international outlook that he has so many international propaganda machinery working for him just to mask his extremely poor human rights records. have you seen a government that leaked the nude pictures of an opposition candidate? that is what is obtainable in Rwanda

5. Finally, it is a case of acute insanity to compare Nigeria to Rwanda, it is just like comparing local dog to Siberian Tiger.

Good to see that the country is doing fine again, but I'll still not encourage anyone to go and invest there or any other black African country for that matter. My reason is that even when the countries appear to be cool, it would be just a matter of time before the natives go haywire and start killing people and destroying businesses. South Africa and Ghana are typical examples.

You said Rwanda isn't as advanced as Nigeria? How exactly is Nigeria is advanced? Only an ignorant and unlearned person will say this.

Nothing like bias bruv, stop using population as an excuse for Nigeria's backwardness. If population is a problem why don't we break up?
Call a spade a spade, if our leaders had vision like Paul kagame of Rwanda and stopped looting our resources by now Nigeria wouldn't be the way it is currently.

I want to believe you've lived in Rwanda.

I don't usually engage in such discussions but bro, while Rwanda is developing fast, as at this very moment, the country is not anywhere as economically vibrant as Nigeria. The industries aren't as advanced, the market isn't as big, the amenities can't be compared to Abuja or Lagos, business is far more viable in Lagos, etc. The capital city has beautiful places just like you'd get in any country. But when you walk down the streets of Kigali (Kyovu area, Remera, etc) and walk down the streets of Abuja, you can't possibly say Kigali is more advanced. Yes, the city is exceptionally CLEAN but that's it.

The reason we praise Rwanda today is because of how fast they're moving on after the genocide. Considering where they were and where they are now, it's safe to say they have one of the highest development rates in Africa kudos to their leaders. But it'll be overreaching suggesting the country is more advanced than Nigeria. Lagos downtown is comparable to many known cities in the world. Many people don't know this cause they haven't traveled. It always seems as if it's better outside.

But if you insist Rwanda is more advanced, that's ok. To each, his own.

Few good buildings & skyline don't mean you are developed but you have successfully created an SEZ like Brazil, China & India did. Rwanda's PPP GDP per capita is no more than $3000. It is even below African average, leave alone being Singapore of Africa.

Our own is too much, you have to admit that, from our admission processes to appointment in the office to lining up in queues, we break rules sometimes without even knowing we are breaking them, if not where do our leaders come from eh? Remember that obasanjo is from the south so is goodluck, when I look back on those days I expected them to completely reform this country and if anyone from the north so much as blinks send in the military to show them shege but guess what they didn't? Until someone stands up to carry us all as a nation forward by force or not, we won't go anywhere? Now as for if dividing will help us, I want you to remember that Nigeria was a federation back then, each region took care of themselves, now do you know why the so called "revolution" of 1966 happened? Corruption was too much, especially what happened in the western elections, we need to sit down and come together to solve this problem we have or else we either die together or die apart.
