Again, this is how your ads will appear in the front end to the viewers.

You know it's an ad when you see the "Sponsored tag" beneath the page name.

Orange colour: Page name- This is most likely what your business is about.. You can name it anything, but it's much better to have a name that relates to your business or services.

Red Line: This your ad copy or sales copy.. You should have something that talks to your audience. Your copy has to relate with your target audience.

Green line: This your a part of your creative... It can be a carousel, an image, or a video(s).

You should have a decent creative to catch people's attention. Because, people are always looking and watching these days, they don't exactly read a lot. You have to catch their attention first, this lures them to read your copy.

Purple line: This is your Call to action-CTA

They have watched your video, seen your pictures, read your copy, but what next?

Tell them.

I want you to do this, do that.

A call to action is very important, to urge people to do what you want them to do.

Order now, call now, Shop now, learn more, etc. These are all cta.

Then, your audience.

From the above, these guys are trying to reach people who are interested in the following.

Purple line: People who are interested in digital marketing, online marketing, etc.

Green line: They are trying to reach people who are in the age range stated.

Orange: They are trying to reach Nigerians.

So, you have to know who your audience is.

Now, let's look at why your ads may not be doing well.

Why your Ads don't work.

There could be a lot of reasons why your ads don't work, but we will look at 5.

1. Audience.

This is one of the most important things to get right when you are advertising online.

You have to put your products in the face of the right audience. The people who are interested in the things you sell.

With the older ways of advertising, they try to target too.

This is why you see some ads on radio or television, are aired at a particular time, maybe during the network news, or weekends, etc. They are trying to reach people who pay attention to stuffs like that.

The competitive edge the digital angle have over other forms of advertising is that it more precise with its targeting.

This is because Facebook knows you more than you even know yourself.

The major problem people face with their ads is that they are trying to target everyone at same time.

But you have to understand that it's not everyone who likes what you are selling or offering.

The day i heard someone say he didn't like chicken, i couldn't believe him.

But that's the reality... You can't target everyone...

You have to focus on the people who are most interested in the things or products you sell.

With Facebook, you can get the right persons that are most likely going to be interested in the things you are selling, or services you are offering, just like the two examples i uploaded previously.

2. Creative.

Your creative will in this case, comprise of your ad copy, your ad images or videos.

These things are very important because they are the first things that catches the other person's eyes.

If you use bland images, or video, it would not be very interesting to the viewer, so they will easily scroll pass. Then, your ads don't do well.

Create simple and interesting pictures or videos of your products or services, that'd keep your target audience engaged. This is very important.

You don't have to overthink these things, or make them complicated.

You don't have to have big gadgets or hire Clarance Peters to shoot for you.

You can do all these with free resources and your smartphone. You can great colourful fliers, banners, and even videos with canva for free.

Just make simple interesting things.

For your copy, the write up; You have to make your ad copy enticing too.

It doesn't have to say everything ay same time, as that can be too long for the reader.

Just make short enticing write ups that'd catch your audience attention. Then, seamlessly move them to your landing page that will have more information.. Here, if you like, write a full dictionary.

3. Offers.

This can be translated to the value that your product or service brings to the table.

Why should we buy from you?

Because, like it or not, nobody wants to spend money.

No-one comes to their Facebook with the wish to spend money.

They just want to have fun.

So, if your ads pops on their timeline, and they are interested, you have to give them the core reason to actually take action.

People pay for value.

So, your offer has to be good to beat off the competition from the other advertiser. Because, of course, you are not the only one trying to advertise to them.

The good thing is, simple things can make great offers too.

You don't have to be slashing prices or running promos all the time.

You can do simple things like free delivery, pay on delivery, offer quality, build trust, etc.

Of course, you can always do price slashes and combo sales, as they work very well too. But endeavour not to be running at loss just to make sales.

If you make people a great offer, they will chase you with their money.

The trick, is to learn how to make good offers.

4. Product or Service: Your product or service has to be in line with people who'd need them... This can be factored into the first point, the audience.

If you are looking to be in business for a while, you should offer good products and services.

Don't start promoting generic products that has proven not to work, or effective.

Or even saturated products. Although, i don't really believe in saturation, but some products are much easier to sell than others.

So, you have to look at problem solving products or services.

Or, find the people with the problems, that your products are a solution to.

AD Spend: I put this down here because the art of advertising is much more than just your spend.

With Facebook ad, you can achieve tremendous sales with less than #5k

The amount you spend and results are heavily dependent on the other factors.

Because, if say, you spend 5k/pay trying to reach people who don't want your products or services, your ads won't do well. You will fail.

If you do the right thing with 1k/day, you'd be doing better than someone who did the wrong things with 5k/day.

However, if we both did our works well, then, your ad spend becomes very important, as Facebook will always favour the one with the bigger spend.

The more the spend, the more you reach.

Everyone is looking out for value.

Nobody likes to spend money, we are all trying to get something back for the money we spend. Every penny.

1. Audience

These are the people you are targeting.. They can be from any category or gender.

2. Creative

This houses your ad copy, your image or video.

Your ad copy is the write up you want to your target audience to see. We will talk more on that.

3. Product or Service

This your goods or services you are offering... It would also be a part of the creative. Like a picture of the products, video, or ad banners.

4. Call to Action

This is the almost the most important part. You want your audience to do something after seeing your ads. That's where you tell them.

Order now. Buy now, send a message, click the link below, etc. All those are a call to action.
