ChinenyeN: Lemme guess, something like Alagbarigha being an Ngwa hunter as fabricated from the ass of Kenneth Dike? 1 Like |

ChinenyeN: That trash of a fabrication is alien to Ndoki, Bonny and Opobo who own the history. A crooked igbo revisionist parading as a historian like Prof. Kenneth Dike from far away anambra can not insult our sensibilities with his junk. 1 Like 1 Share |

ijawcitizen: Based on colonial archives which was devoid of Nigerian influence Bonny was founded by Ngwa man. While it may be right or wrong the version of Igbo spoken by Bonny, Opobo, Ndoki et al is very close to Ngwa with infusement of Isu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6dvn79RnNc 5 Likes 2 Shares |

AdakaBoro8: And opopo is Igbo word for large which to me sounds closer to Opobo than the Ijaw opubo. However I strongly feel that "opu obo" might be the actual phrase. 3 Likes |

Bonny and Opobo are culturally and politically Ijaw. Nationalism in Nigeria has locked that in place. This conversation is really not up for debate. |

ijawcitizen: Lol. Prof Dike is not your problem. The Alabariye story already existed in records many decades before the 1950s when Dike conducted his research and merely reproduced what had been written before him by the likes of AG Leonard. Dike is not your problem. 6 Likes 1 Share |

RedboneSmith:Don't mind him and his present day Ijaw tribal concepts, we can't stop speak of our past/history because present day Ijaw nationalist, like Igbos------- example------ Ukwa Ngwa Cultural geographical area also played important roles in the shaping of the so called Ijaw eg.

Re: What Ndoki People Say About Themselves by ijawcitizen(m): 5:50pm On Jan 24, 2021 |
RedboneSmith:Yeah the good old 50s when the igbo establishment rewriting of the history of non-igbos in the igbo kingdom of Eastern region was in full swing. The records in Ndoki, Bonny and Opobo are still intact and none of them said anything about Alagbarigha/Alagbariye (a proper Ijaw names) being an Ngwa man. This statement by Kenneth Dike is grand igbo revisionism of the 50s taken too far, it is simply desperation that is only paralleled by the fulani madness. 1 Like |

Ekealterego: This your archive is superb. However it also proves that the Igbo coming together as one ethnic group happened in 20th century and each Igbo group felt they spoke a different language from the other as at then but once outside Igboland they got to understand they belong to one language group. 3 Likes 1 Share |
