The lecturers that sleep with students for marks usually have each other’s backs. If you report one, you’ll find yourself failing courses taught by other lecturers. The best thing in school is to dress like an efico, study while generally keeping a low profile and pray to God for His protection.

Omoluabi,you forgot that same happened in Unilag and University of Ibadan....
It has nothing to do with tribe, rather it is our educational system that gave rise to such. The so called lecturers sees themselves as small gods to their students and believes that can do anything they like to their students without been questioned...
I see it as wickedness and Africa mentality.

He's already suspended based on preliminary investigation by the school authority, the only thing that awaits him now is bigger punishment by the Senate and possible prosecution by the police. You think the Senate would have suspended him based on hearsay?

She wasn't forced or whatever but the dynamics of such relationships is way beyond mutual. That is why it is illegal and highly frowned upon.

The lecturer wields a lot of power over his student and it is nearly impossible for the lady to turn down his advances without a fear of repercussion. So even if it is not mutual for her, she has to play along to salvage her future.

Would you say no to someone who would determine whether you come out with a Pass or 2:1?

Also it muddles the integrity of whatever system you have in place. You think the Lecturer would be fair when marking the script of a lady he is seeing? How would you feel if you were a male student and you failed the Lecturer's exam but the Lady in question passed and you sure knew she didn't merit the pass?


There are a lot of things wrong with such relationships that's why it should be banned and should be illegal. I think Nigerians need to look at the bigger picture and open their minds. We have been so corrupted that absolute wrongs like this seem natural and normal to us.

You would be silly to blame the victim. The adult here was the lecturer and he should be punished.
