Governor of rivers state has already ordered protesters to stop any protest they planned for today

The Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has banned #EndSARS protests in the state.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Rivers State commissioner for information, Paulinus Nsirim, the governor said that since the police has scrapped the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), there was “no need for any form of protest against a unit of the police force that no longer exists.”

Mr Wike said law enforcement agencies have been directed to enforce the ban and “bring violators to book.”

“Parents and guardians are therefore advised to ensure that their children or wards do not violate this order,” the statement said.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Sunday announced the “dissolution” of SARS, a police unit notorious for its brutality against innocent citizens.

The dissolution followed a nationwide protest and call for the scrapping of SARS.

Despite the police announcement, protesters have continued to march through the streets in various parts of the country.

The protests have generally been peaceful, except in some places where the police deployed force and fired live bullets and teargas to disperse protesters.

I love this spirit, the youths have now realize that both PDP & APC are the same wine in different bottles, they don’t want a reformed police because the police is a tool they use to oppress the Citizens while they loot the nation dry.

BLM protesters where destroying and burning stores in the US but the police never for once used live bullets on them, how on earth will you release police officers with armed riffles on peaceful protesters, where on earth have you ever seen such ??
To all those supporting this injustice, MAY THE BLOOD OF THE DEAD PEACEFUL PROTESTERS BE ON YOUR HEAD AND THAT OF YOUR LOVED ONES.

BLM are still protesting even today, and some wicked and heartless Nigerians are saying we the youths should stop.

ALL WE ARE ASKING FOR IS A REFORMED POLICE FORCE AND JUSTICE FOR THOSE KILLED DUE TO POLICE BRUTALITY

Wike is trying to be politically correct, remember politicians only have one loyalty to themselves... Wike just recently got out of a backlash with the north by telling them to back of the oil before retracting the statement, Abeg leave my governor

Shut up if you have nothing tangible to contribute. Besides this is not a thread for zombies. Go to the APC threads and finish your work there as usual.

I have mixed feelings about this Port Harcourt protest.

I'm happy the youth are protesting and voicing out with good energies and determination.

But :
This is Port Harcourt ,it could get really bloody ...50% or more percentage of this boys have unlimited access to guns and dangerous weapons .
If a protester mistakenly gets killed ,body go tell both Military and protester .

Secondly this present Federal government is antiPortharcourt ,it's been proven times and over again...They have deployed tons and battalions of military personnel to the South (Phc inclusive)

I'm sure they're ready to shoot at sight.

In all, you all please stay safe embarassed embarassed embarassed.
