WE SHOULD ASK ASUU WHY YOU INSIST ON WHAT YOU WANT AND NOT WHAT YOUR EMPLOYERS WANT?

E pele, Mr. Ignoramus with small English. Internet-savvy bunkum? Geez. Must you wield words bigger than you? For your information, my usage is very apt. Here's one definition: an ignorant or stupid person. Have you not shown yourself to be ignorant? Even when a teacher offered to show you evidence to the contrary, you would rather wallow in your ignorance. Says a lot about what sort of student you must have been.

ASUU selfish my foot. TETFund (ETF) was ASUU's idea. Today it is what sustains not just universities but also polytechnics. It is what has allowed the construction of scores of facilities used by students around the country . Non-teaching staff are trained and funded from it. All of these based on the struggle of the same ASUU that twits like you label selfish.

What you need to realize is that the baying of people like you is meaningless, apart from being a source of mild annoyance. You can change nothing, froth as you may. Abacha, Babangida, Obasanjo, they all bowed to ASUU. The present government will too, so don't get your bp raised for nothing

is there any possibility that assu will call off the strike this week?

Serious grouse. They remain one of the most useless and selfish unions in Nigeria. But hey which civil servant is responsible in Nigeria. All are the same.
Some who have refused to be schooled but are all round commentators on issues they've got little or no knowledge on, keep making this statement: "How can ASUU be dictating to his employer on how he should be paid? I trust Buhari will deal with them."

Congratulations and Weldone! Buhari is really dealing with them. Meanwhile, this is what Nigerian law says;

"The Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Act 2003 (otherwise called the Universities Autonomy Act No. 1, 2007) enacted by the National Assembly and signed into law on 10th July 2003 and later gazetted by the Federal Republic of Nigerian Official Gazette No. 10, Volume 94 of 12th January 2007 as Act No. 1 of 2000, has vested the powers of managing personnel and payroll system issues in the hands of each university’s governing council".

Has this Act been repealed by Buhari's government and replaced with "OAGF is vested with the power to manage the payroll of all public universities through IPPIS"?

Lets set our emotions, loyalty and interest aside and behave like educated people. Presidents will come and go, and Nigeria will remain.

None whatsoever. Not that this gives me any pleasure to say.

Government is reconstituting its negotiation team, and ASUU branches have rejected the FG's initial offer (all empty *promises*). The negotiation dance is just commencing. If I had to guess, I'd say resumption should be sometime in November if both sides are willing to make reasonable compromises -as initial signs suggest.

Why is ASUU giving the government an option with UTAS? Why are they not saying only government council can manage their payroll? That is because they understand the act more than you do. No need to explain.

ASUU IS FRAUD

but every other worker is on ippis. IPPIS will help expose financial irregularities and also create employment for other people who are qualified to be lecturers--- but these oldies are working in 2 to 3 institutions at the same time

Shame! You don't Know that Other workers are crying now. Find out why they embarked on 2 weeks warning strike.

...and why do ASUU also insist on using FREE software when the paid software seems to be more secured? Hope is not because they get hackers that will keep compromising the system with them?
