Rubbish. This ASUU matter don tire me. They should hold d govt by d balls let dem sort out their differences once n for all. It's always d students that are held to ransom. They're saying rubbish about the government what about them, are they saints? Some of the lecturers that won't even enter class but tell people we'll meet in exam halls nko? Rubbish. Useless govt, useless ASUU. My only prayer is that students should use the moral of endsars to follow d stupid school authorities if n when due. #ENDSARS #ENDASUU #ENDSUG #ENDPOORQUALITYOFEDUCATION
Rubbish

Is it not better for our lecturers which have gone through the four walls of university to be paid good salary than some of our leaders

ASUU wan start lying, IPPIS has over 400 MDAs presently on it and it is only ASUU that somehow will start receiving 8000, below minimum wage. Very stupid story.

If you enquired about it, you would have known a good number of lecturers and Professors were paid a large percentage less than their monthly payments.
MDAs, University lecturers and Professors do not have the same salary scale.
Enquire next time before you post.

Not a lie.
The professors who registered on IPPIS are crying right now.
They can't cope.
Many of them are close to retiring.
If you don't know, ask before you make judgements.

A lecturer I earning 5,800 from Feb 2020 till his salary was stopped in July can attest.

Another federal parastatal worker on IPPIS has been pursuing her salary of November last year till date.
Worst is you have to go to Abuja to lodge complaints.
If you can't afford hotel accommodation for at least 2 days or know anybody you can put up with
OYO na your case.

ChiefS:

It negates the law governing Universities. The principle of autonomy which took ASUU many years of strike . It does not capture the peculiarities of lecturers. Lecturers have specific allowances that support publishing in journals and attending conferences. A lecturer is expected not only to teach but do research which should be published in journals and presented at conferences. The cost of publishing in local journals range between 35 and 100k. While open access international journals cost between $1,000 and $2,500. This he does using his lean salary. No lecturer is promoted without having a good number of publications in local and international journals. The mantra in academics is "publish or perish".

Those attributing lecturers' rejection of IPPIS to their visiting status to other universities are not aware that the lecturers that serve as visiting lecturers are mostly visiting lecturers to private and state universities which are NOT on IPPIS. So it is impossible for IPPIS to detect it.

Also, IPPIS does not take into consideration other peculiarities like visiting lecturers from foreign universities whose services are required to support some departments that need their expertise. Universities all over the world don't operate in isolation.

CalebLebsco56 educate yourself on the above quote.

This lie carry weight sha, many university staff have a lot of debt overhang, they are servicing over 3 to 4 loans. The accounting system however ensures your salary can not go below 30k and the loans are now extended to run for more years.

That's why unemployment is rampant in the land

Sabbatical Appointments are enshrined in the edicts of the Universities globally and it is once every 7 years.
For you to get a sabbatical appointment you must have a PhD and a number of publication
Adjunct or visiting positions are based on human capacity needs of a department especially if they can't afford a full time staff.
In most schools Adjunct positions are reserved for PhD holders.

How many youths with a PhD do you know? Do you have a PhD? Have you applied for any advertised position?
Have you been rejected because of an adjunct personnel? How do you know that this is the cause of unemployment?
This is not to attack but to clarify facts from myths.

Most schools don't like adjuncts because it counts less towards accreditation.

A Senator is earning per month what 58 professors are earning you are not looking at that
The government policies are shutting down businesses are you not aware of that too?
The cost of food is high, so are basic amenities but ASUU. a fragment of an oppressed society is the problem.
You are doing exactly what the government wants: sentimental arguments.
If ASUU fails, every one including yourself will pay dearly for it.
