2 Thessalonians 2:7 -12
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The way NIV Bible interprets vs 9 to 12 is very simple. I am not approving the NIV Bible but we must use every means at our disposal to learn more about the God and his thoughts. NIV Bible is not for strong meat eaters or bone crushers. It is not a primary tool or weapon for workmen, soldiers, warriors, and students of Bible prophecy

7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,
10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie
12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Satan will not go down alone, he is going down with the people he has deceived through displays of power signs and lying wonders. He is using the deceivableness and subtlety and wickedness of unrighteousness to hold them captive to follow him to his eternal destruction, and this is with their full acquiescence because these people have been deceived because they do not love the truth that it might save them. So because of their refusal to accept the truth and repent and be saved, God himself has sent them strong delusions so that they will continue to believe the lie.

They continue to refuse to believe or accept the truth they they might be saved. They have pleasure in unrighteousness and continue to delight in wickedness. Their continuance in unrighteousness and wickedness is their condemnation and damnation

The wicked is not the same as the antiChrist. Let say the antiChrist has physical power but the wicked has spiritual power.
