Borgu is an extended empire that cover the present day Kwara North with tribes like Baatonu (bariba), in Baruten local government and Boko Baru in kaiama local government. then Borgu local government, in Niger state they also speak boko Baru. the empire extended to Benin Republic. with Nikki being the head quarters of the Kingdom. so every Borgu person have an extended family in Benin Republic. Jaagaba, corrupted as jagaban means the somebody that leads just like asiwaju in Yoruba.

Even Ajayi crowther was captured and and sold in one of such Fulani raid of Oyo.

Emir shitta raided Oyo and it's well documented fact.

Fulani after raiding Oyo pushed down South and were only defeated in Ogbomoso by Ibadan warriors.

In fact, Jeba a town shared by Nupes and Yoruba in Kwara still stands till today

Nupes are still in Oyo state in the Ibarapa section

Yorubas still live amongst Bariba in Benin republic and Nigeria.

Yeah! Going down to saki or ago are, u'd come across nupes which are referred to as tapa nw

The name 'Jagaban' was first mentioned by Bill Clinton (then USA President) when he visited Lagos for the Eko Atlantic Project, however 'Jagaban' as innocuously pronounced by Bill Clinton was supposed to be Ijagaa-Oba, meaning "the maker of Kings", I read this in one of the dailies published by Punch Newspapers (I think) then, I have tried to lay my hands on it as a reference but couldn't find it...I guess our deeply rooted Yoruba folks can allude to it...

You don’t want to learn and that’s a problem. Dump that book you were taught in school, keep time to study well researched works.

1. I just checked. You were right. Ajayi Crowther was captured by Fulani.

2. Emir Shitta ruled Ilorin. Now are you aware that Oyo Ile still exist in present Kwara state. Oh, you think they were all chased out? Infact, only the family of the Alafin, his Chiefs and others fled. Some fled to found Ibadan, while other fled to found modern Oyo town. However, those who remained in Oyo Ile converted to Islam and were spared. The present Oyo Ile is under an Emir and the territory is under the Shonga Emirate in Edu LGA. As I told you before, the Emir of Shonga during a courtesy visit to our NYSC camp told us this. The people are Yoruba and Nupe but are ruled by a Fulani Emir.

3. The Jebba town is a chiefdom under the Borgu Emirate. Jebba became recognized after Borgu joined Niger state.

4. The Tapa people are in Ibarapa I know. They are found in many parts of Yoruba land. You can find them in Okokomaiko in a place called Ago Tapa. They are also found in Lagos Island and in Oshodi.

This is what I’m correcting. The Fulani did not conquer Ilorin, they only installed an Emir after the death of Afonja. The Fulani did not even raid old Oyo. Those who raided old Oyo we're the Nupe and Bariba. Jihadist can be any tribe who fight for an Islamic cause.
Bariba never raid Old Ọ̀yọ́ though they tried but wasn't successful due to the help of Orangun Ajagunla of Ila Oranmiyan's elder brother, it's Nupe who raided the old Oyo (Ọ̀yọ́-Ilé or Ọ̀yọ́ Katunga) in 16th century and destroyed it forcing Aláàfin to fled to Borgu kingdom. Another capital (Ọ̀yọ́ Igboho) was rebuilt by Aláàfin Ofinran after He successfully regain conquered Ọ̀yọ́ territories from Nupe. Aláàfin Orompoto-Niyun (The second Ọ̀yọ́ female king) attacked Nupe territories forcing them to migrated northward and pay tributes to Aláàfin till the declining of Ọ̀yọ́ empire

Jagaban as a word (formed from the Borgu word/phrase and title Ja a gabar) is a chieftaincy title equivalent in meaning and rank to the Yoruba word and title Asiwaju. Their meaning in English is leader of warriors/leaders.

Whatever but Oyo was a kingdom. Your colonial masters refer to Benin as Benin Empire you're free to address it as what you want it's your choice.

You’re right. Made the correction. But every other mentions is verified. However, what you call the Fulani are Jihadist of different tribes. And majority of the Jihadist were Nupe and Baruba.

Late Emir of Borgu Kingdom, Haliru Dantoro who was a senator during the time Tinubu was a senator gave him the title(Ja'agaban of Borgu) in 2005, they were friends. Ja'agaban literally means Leader(Asiwaju) in Hausa/Fulani language. I was working and living in that town that year. The town is called New Bussa or Kainji, that's where Kainji dam is located in Niger State. That is all about the title.
