Poverty of conscience, no empathy for a fellow man. I detest our leaders and the leadership of this country with passion but we the followers are not in any way different from the leaders we complain about. In summary,Nigeria is a conglomerate of bad leadership and followership with exception to some good Nigerians. Events like this and behaviors of an average Nigerian make me feel we actually deserve the kinds of leaders bestowed upon us because our conscience and value system have been totally eroded. An accident occurred, instead of helping to save lives, the next thing is looting or in some cases destroying properties as if that will bring remedy to the victims. There was a country.....

I don’t know if you have taken an accident victim to a Nigeria hospital before? You truly have to be rich and well connected to attempt it.

No Doctor will attend to the patient until you buy card and put money down for treatment and you can’t dump the patient there and leave, they will block you from leaving.

Wait until the Police shows up, they will invite you to the station to give statement and you will not get off the hook until you pay yourself out and in the process you would lost at the minimum a day or two work and in a country where people live hand to mouth you can’t afford to lose a single day of work.

The lawmakers should look into this and amend existing laws to make it easier for Good Samaritans and mandatory for hospitals to accept accidents victims. In the western world, once you are able to take an accident victim to the emergency room, you can walk right out and go about your business, they will take over and you can even refuse to give them your name or information.
