Rubbish. Does Anambra have anything on it's scale is the issue here. Ilubirin is even much further along than Eko Atlantic and has two blocks are to be delivered shortly and two more in April.

Point is that only Lagos can conceive and ultimately deliver these mega projects, with available buyers, in Nigeria so you Villagers should know your place.

Have fun deluding yourselves but keep Lagos off your silly threads about Anambra.
Lagos is being built by all tribes while your people are looking for available opportunity to loot and destroy.

Lol certainly not by you Igbos who are mainly tax dodgers and economic saboteurs. Both Ilubirin and Eko Atlantic have nothing to do with Igbo money so what is your point? Non. That's why you are clutching at straws and disgracing yourself.

Forumers have seen you move from trying to discredit project you are ignorant of, and should know if a true Lagosian as you claim, to now trying to rob the Yoruba-led administrators of Lagos credit for what has nothing to do with "all tribes" and everything to do with mega projects the State concieves that is then funded with private cash in PPP (private/public sector Partnership projects) arrangements.

My friend, you are no Lagosian. If you were you would know that Lagos is simply many many miles ahead of anything in Nigeria.

The only Nigeria that bought first completed tower in Eko Athletic is an Igbo man and he is the only Nigerian that has office there can use your google, Eko Athletic is being finance by Lebanese mafias

What exactly is your point? You IPOBians started the State d1ck comparison. When that fell flat on its face, leaving you disgraced and exposed, you want to shift goalpost to make this about individuals. Find another thread for that buddy.

It matters not who buy units in Eko Altantic. The relevant issue here is that Lagos has Eko Atlantic and several similar PPP project concieved by Lagos and delivered in a consortium arrangement with the private sector like Banana Island, Ilubirin, Orange Island etal.

Anambra does not have anything even remotely similar. So much for comparing it to Lagos when Anambra should perhaps by struggling to keep up with Katsina lol.

OP the answer to your question is YES. Anambra, specifically Onitsha is currently 15 to 20 years behind Lagos. But it has has 3 pathways of growth depending on the next leader.

Exponential growth if they get a visionary and transformative leader.

or

Linear growth if they get average good leader.

or

Stagnation if they get mediocre/ bad leader.

The only difference between Anambra and Lagos is Apapa, Victoria island and ikoyi Aside that there is no other advantage.

If anambra is able to replicate a business capital like Victoria island or Ikoyi than it is game over

With the present national status-quo and political-economy, there's a glass ceiling beyond which no south-east city can rise above! This is why i always say with 'one Nigeria', Ndigbo can NEVER reach their full potential or develop faster than the Fulani or their Yoruba partners want them the develop (though unlike with the Fulani, i believe not all Yoruba that have this mindset)!

To reach our full potential and have cities that can be truly world-class and rival those of Europe and North America, we have to detach ourselves from these two ethnic grps....either via a TRULY restructured Nigeria or via Biafra (by whatever configuration it may take)!

Have you ever thought that it might be that the Igbo man is the biggest problem of the Igbo man and not Hausa/Fulani and Yorubas as you Igbos are brainwashed to believe from the womb?

Even events of late validate this with SARS atrocities in the SE being the worst and most inhuman in Nigeria by far. Your leaders then conspired to build a wall of silence around the genocide committed by James Nwafor etal.

When you have demonic law enforcement and political leaders like that, one wonders why the Igbo man never looks closer to home to see his biggest enemy.

I have never absolved our greedy elite from the south-east of blame! They share at least 45% of the blame for our travails as their greed has made them willing tools in the hands of bigoted Igbo haters!

Lol .... I wouldn't say much. As someone who has lived and traveled around in both states there is No way you can compare Anambra with Lagos. cool The difference is very clear grin. You may claim to look for unique elements that makes them different, you can find that. But development wise? Lagos is still very far from Anambra, and sorry its not catching up yet! smiley

This looks quite impressive from the air. It could be somewhere in Italy or Portugal. Except for ONE problem.

The problem I've always had with cities like Onitsha is that these buildings do not correspond with the street/road infrastructure, which is VERY poor. They rarely build roads with covered drains and sidewalks, which should be the norm on every street.

Anambra leaders MUST start to build proper street infrastructure to correspond with these nice high-rise buildings, or it just amounts to putting lipstick on a pig.

Covered drains are not a luxury. Sidewalks are not a luxury. This is BASIC infrastructure. Add that to this nice skyline, and you'll have cities that can compare with any on earth.

How the streets should look:

Although Lagos State is still shabby ( Mushin, Bariga, dopemu, Ajegunle, Ketu, Agiliti etc), no state in Nigeria comes close...

Anambra is in the league of Rivers for now

And Lagos State last sensible governor was Ambode. This one there is a clown.... When Lagos gets another technocrat governor, you'd see what it is...

Eko o ni baje

I agree.
Anambra isn't anywhere near Lagos.
Oh, c'mon. All these buildings are 4,5 storey residential houses.
Where in Anambra can be compared with, say Marina, Lagos, with it's many highrises?

Topics like these are just mischievous. There's no basis for comparison structurally, between the two states.

Things that Lagos has that Anambra don't

1) Gas pipelines that aid in electricity generation and manufacturing
2) Only major Sea port for importation
3) Major International Airport
4) Decades of Federal government investment in its infrastructures.

I believe these are the things that has made Lagos stand out from the rest. With that said, Its quite impressive that Onitsha is where it is today without getting any of the advantages Lagos got.

I know this topic would rile some people up.

One has to admit that what anambra has achieved hust in years is unprecedented.

Hedging on the messed up war..anambra seems to bounce back with a force that cannot be reckoned with.

Following its financial and private investment stride..the state seems to be catching up with the former capital of Nigeria, Lagos

Anambra has maintained the top 10 position in finance, education, infrastructure and private investment.

Lagos on the other hand has been on a steady decline over the years which has somewhat heartbreaking

Some few pix of anambra
[/s]

What a shameful post! Nigerians are inseparably tied to backwardness!

So Lagos is now standard to be copied? Yet, Nigeria rejected its capital as Lagos and built a modern capital? So why are you copying the design of the 1940s? When even in same Nigeria you have a more modern design in Abuja?

Thank you my brother! Please continue to point it out. It is so heartbreaking that our people are so determined to remain in stone-age and continue building sh*thole cities, instead of copying proper functional cities outside Nigeria.

It is often so shocking when i hear Nigerians copying crap within Nigeria, especially Lagos ! ....instead of trying to improve Nigeria.

In this generation, i have observed even Accra modernize itself and they are copying standard cities in the world not Nigeria or Lagos.

I wonder if things will ever improve in this generation when even the mistakes of the past are being copied by the present generation as "standard". Abuja is the only decent city in Nigeria. Instead of Nigerians thinking how to replicate the standard elsewhere, it is the chaos, slums, poor sanitation that they'd prefer to copy as "development".

In South Africa, I don't want to compare Johannesburg, Pretoria or Cape Town to Nigerian cities. Even their second and third Tier cities as Durban, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Polokwane are better than Lagos or any Nigerian city. Yet, we copy Lagos as the "standard" in building new cities? Who did this to the brain of black Africans?

It truly appears that Lagos is "abroad" to many Igbos, who actually believe there is nothing better that Nigerians can build.

There are more skyscrapers in Lagos but Anambra gave Lagos edge in multistorey buildings, the numbers of six, five and four storey buildings in Anambra are far more than Lagos this is fact any body that've visited both states will confirm.

What I am showing you is the normal outlook of Ibadan, it is not meant to ridicule the town but showing the town as it is.

You people do refuse to upgrade your brain as much as you upgrade your phone OS, so that's still the same ibadan that everyone in ibadan lives, it's either you're outdated or chose to show your dumbness.. I don't have any photos of ibadan to show you but if you ever have a well to do person in ibadan ask them for photos of where they live and not those brown roofs that are agelong landmarks of the ancient city.
