did it ever occur to you that not everybody is either Christian or Muslim?

I mean what nonsense. It should be within the right of every Nigerian to consume alcohol whether they want to, or not. Banning it just because of Sharia law is bad.

I wonder why the breweries who own those bottles don't want to sue these people.

UAE is relaxing laws on alcohol, is Kano more islamic than UAE?
Shouldn't there be separation between state and religion in a secular country?
The taxes and excise duties paid by the manufacturers are they shared with Kano?

We are a confused country, restructure this country to people of like minds, some people say no, they want peace. Peace without justice.

LOL!!

You know the biggest hypocrites? Some Followers of Islam ... i will not say all

They ban alcohol but they binge on codeine, they sniff glue, they smoke weed, the sniff gutter emissions! They’d do anything to get high but will destroy alcohol.

The biggest hypocrisy is that they will accept the proceeds from what is termed Haram; VAT from the sales of Alcohol and taxes from the producers of alcohol but destroy the alcohol.

Go to the mammy markets in the north; you will find them there drinking.

Check their prayer kettle; you’ll find the contents is not always water

Check that soft drink bottle they always carry; mixed into it is codeine

Go to any area dominated by northerners; you find empty tubes of vulcanizing glue, brown bottles and empty packs of tramadol

NIGERIA WAS NEVER ONE, IS NEVER ONE, AND CAN NEVER BE ONE.

ANYONE THAT THINKS OTHERWISE MUST BE UNTRUE TO HIMSELF

TO MAKE NIGERIA WORK AS A COUNTRY WILL MEAN THE FOLLOWING;

Revert back to the 1963 Peoples' Constitution
Revert to the Regional Government System that worked for all [so that the Sharia states can practice their sharia in their own region without victimizing other people out of ignorance and stupidity]
Devolve Power to the Regions
Total Regional Resource Control
Regional/State Police
Etc.

Anything short of these mean the gradual disintegration of Nigeria.
This is the bitter pill [truth] we must swallow

just chill, it is the law in the state, you people just hate Islam thinking you're too wise and more civilised than others. Saudi Arabia doesn't allow alcohol and they are far better than Nigeria. Dubai that just lifted the ban was a better country than Nigeria and even after lifting the ban, they will still be better than Nigeria. So alcohol doesn't determine a country's development. Or do you mean that every individual who doesn't consume alcohol is backward?

Hisbah destroys beer bottles worth N200m in Kano

The Kano State Hisbah Board on Sunday destroyed 1,975,000 bottles of different beer worth over N200m, which were confiscated within Kano metropolis.

Speaking during the destruction exercise in Kalebawa in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, said consumption of alcohol and all other intoxicants was forbidden in Islam

In a statement by the the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hassan Fagge, the governor was quoted as saying, “Even in Kano we have banned the consumption of beer in all parts of the state.”

Ganduje added that Hisbah Board was established with the aim of preventing evil social acts in society.

The statement quoted the Commander General, Hisbah Board, Sheikh Harun Ibn Sina, as saying that the beer confiscated was worth over N200m.

He further said that the board got a court order to destroy over 20 trucks of the intercepted alcohol.

Ibn Sina while expressing the appreciation of the support given to them by the government, assured the governor that the board would not relent in the “fight against immoral acts and other social vices destroying society.”

ISLAM is setting northern Nigeria backward.

They should embrace modernity.

The same northern states are always eager to collect proceeds from VATS taxes earned from hotel services, beer, cigarettes and alcoholics drinks.
