Even in the zoo, there are laws guiding the management of animals, but in a jungle, there are no rules.

Is Nigeria a zoo or a jungle or both.

I do not think so, I just think illiterates should be weeded out from the ranks and files and pushed into rodent hunting expeditions in the zoo.

When you realize you are in a jungle, you will be guided to stay low profile.

Police do not like lawyers, he kept the suspect in the cell waiting for someone to bring 10K for bail, and you want to go and get him released for free..

The Deep Pit Ole, sorry DPO saw you as an enemy that came to separate him from his garri. grin

The man beat you up as a thief of his glory and source of income.

If the judiciary should be silent on this, then shame on the body. You cannot treat a lawyer like this and that DPO is not removed and prosecuted for an assault, the, NBA should be dissolved.
The Lawyer ought to have instituted or should institute an action under the Fundamental Right Enforcement Procedure Rules, to enforce his fundamental right(joining the DPO and all other officers who partook in the assault), the Judiciary can't do it for him.

EBMedia:
A lawyer, Joseph Arikpo has accused a DPO and his officers in Cross River State of brutalising him when he went to solicit the bail of a young man who had been in detention for over six days, IgbereTV reports.

According to the Calabar based lawyer, the incident happened at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ikom, on Sunday, November 8.

Narrating his ordeal on Tuesday morning, November 10, Arikpo said trouble started when the DPO called him a stupid man.

Arikpo claimed that when he asked not to be insulted, the DPO 'punched him repeatedly and afterwards threw him into cell where he was further assaulted by some officers.'

NAIRALAND CHIEF JUDGE, DO YOU NEED TO HERE FROM THE POLICE OR YOU JUST PASS THE JUDGEMENT, BECAUSE THIS STORY SWEET WELL WELL.

Mr lawyer, a young man detained for over six days for no just course. Till thy kingdom come, I disagree with you even though I have not heard from the police.

Note that there are offences that are not bailable offences, but you totally refused to mention anything that has been reported against the young man by another civilian.

You must have conducted yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace in DPO officer that's why you tried to escape.

While we wait to hear from the police, just feel I should point out areas that, for my money, you could have been economical with the truth.

Eeeyahh.....the bar.

He was my neighbour back then in calabar during my undergraduate studies. A jovial, intelligent and easygoing guy. So those beasts in police uniform actually did this to you?? well, I believe you to take this up cause you have top ranked lawyers and judges there in calabar

Exactly on point. Most of these officers are drunk. You see most of them smoke weed that they arrest people on. Always drinking ogogoro while on duty with their gun.

It's glaring that to be unruly and acting stupid is in their DNA. The last protest ought to have made them to feel remorse that they are longer loved even if there love for them.

What a country!
