A teenage Jehovah's Witness must have a blood transfusion to save her life despite her religious objections, a senior judge ruled today.

The High Court heard doctors must go ahead with the procedure because, although the 15-year-old is intelligent and able to make her own decisions, she should not be allowed to die.

But Sir James Munby said his ruling had been made in great haste because of the girl's condition and that she may be able to refuse transfusions in the future.

He called for judges to reconsider legal precedents set down nearly 30 years ago which says that children should have no say in whether they accept medical treatment they do not want.

The case mirrors the dilemmas faced by the family court judge played by Emma Thompson in 2017's The Children Act.

I hope they would change.
The Mormons supported and practised polygamy for 60 years before it was discontinued by mainstream Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints.

In a free world, we are still constrained by traditions, religion, and laws. Can anyone force Muslims to eat pork? When it comes to beliefs, a supreme sacrifice - death can be peak of faithfulness. Let JW be and let them also let me be, not to knock on my door.

A Muslim won’t die because he refuses to eat pork, but a teenager can’t be allowed to die because of his or her parents religious beliefs. No one deserves to die an avoidable death

Obedience to the Creator is more important than your personal opinion.
That is the main issue here..

Acts15:29 ,Acts 5:29 and 1 John 5:3, have not changed.
Obedience to God is more important than your life.
Hebrew 5:7 & 11:17-19, Jesus Christ & Abraham are classic examples.
Did Jesus not know that obedience to God would cost him his life?

Did Abraham not know that obedience to God would cause the loss of Isaac, his son?

The Judge Sir James Munby doesn't deem it fit to respect "the religious objections" of the 15 year old, but he is of the opinion that the Court of Law should reconsider her wish when the same issue comes up in future before the adolescent attains the age of 18 .. (the same matter his Court & Judgement refused to consider).

It's a pity that their Pastors have blinded them completely so even if the world experts now tell them blood transfusion is unsafe many of them will still go for it out of desperation.

Before scientists discover blood transfusion, God (our Creator) have sounded the warning that it's dangerous to human health {Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 3:17, 7:26, 17:10; Deuteronomy 12:16; Act 15:20, 29, 21:25} but when Scientists who have little or no regard for the word of God came up with blood transfusion, Satan tricked millions with the idea blood transfusion will save you and immediately none of their Pastors had a second thought over what God said about blood.
But come to think of it, if you ask them "whose blood can save?" churchgoers will respond enthusiastically "only Jesus blood can save" so where is their now? undecided
