About 753 members of the Nigerian Union of Traders Association in Ghana have presented a letter to the Federal Government requesting for evacuation from the former Gold Coast.

The Save-Our-Soul letter was presented to the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa in Abuja by the union President, Dr Ken Ukoaha, and some members.

This is happening against the backdrop of the imposition of $1m business equity on non-Ghanaians as well as other conditions.

On Tuesday, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, had urged the traders not to leave Ghana, noting that the government was still engaging with the Ghanaian authorities over the matter.

But a statement from Gabriel Odu, of the NIDCOM Media, Public Relations and Protocol Unit on Wednesday disclosed that the 753 signatories expressed their willingness to return home.

They alleged that their shops had been locked for almost one year by the Ghanaian authorities, “more so, since all diplomatic niceties at the highest level between Nigeria and Ghana have not yielded positive results, they are left with no choice than to ask for evacuation.”

“Now, landlords are coming to ask us for rent. How do we pay with our shops locked up for so long; were are dying here,” the statement quoted them as saying.

However, Dabiri-Erewa again called for peace, stressing that all relevant stakeholders would continually be engaged.

She also said Nigeria would not hesitate to gladly and safely welcome her citizens back to the country.

Remember the forceful "Ghana must go" mass exodus in 1982-1984 era? Now the people we despised back then have become a more prosperous nation with good economy, security, political stability and a responsible leadership.

Meanwhile, Nigeria being the bigger brother to a nation of Ghana's kind is wallowing not even as a third world nation in the opposite direction, that its citizens are being subjected to this kind of treatment.

Keep on fooling yourself that Nigeria is great when in reality Nigeria is like southern Sudan and Somalia we are last in the world in everything will deceive ourselves. Take a trip to Malawi and Mozambique you will see the amount of Nigerian refugees. Nigerians wake up one day and start fooling themselves. Benin Republic and togo Republic have.

Comparisons between these West African nations and Nigeria’s’ Lagos alone would be interesting.

See, I have to say, if Lagos ( an old Nigerian capital, small, dirty) is indeed wealthier than an entire Ghana Nation, Ivory Coast Nation, Senegal Nation, etc then you really need to be ashamed not boastful.

illiterate Lagos is the . worst city in the world to live in. GDP in Nigeria is highly inflated because the projects are highly inflated with corruption. In every statistics in Africa Lagos come last. Two out of three people in Lagos live in slums . One thing with my Nigerian people they like to fool themselves to show they are big but in reality they are illiterate. Human development index Nigeria is 156 country in the world hunger Nigeria is 7 country in the world. Take a trip to order African cities you will know Lagos State is a toy. 70% of Nigerians in other African countries are in legal and refugees. If he does not feel good why do more Nigerian spend on education in Ghana than in Nigeria why do Nigerian spend more on education in South Africa than in Nigeria. Nigerian spent more on healthcare in Ghana and South Africa done in Nigeria so where is the GDP. The GDP of Nigeria is abroad they count Nigerian properties abroad they count Nigerian houses in other countries and add it to the GDP does it make sense. How can you count a house which is owned by Nigerians in America and add it to the Nigerian GDP. Nigeria has dropped out of 10 countries in Africa to invest in Lagos is now the 15th city in Africa to invest in
