its the same thing --- as bottom line as you are seeing someone

when they use the word DATING -- its more like known by parents and relatives and the rest

when they use the words GOING OUT -- its more like known between your friends not really known by parents or relatives

but its all seeing someone or in relationship

They are 2 seperate things.

Dating = Going out on dates and getting some action wink

Hanging/Going Out = Possibly going out to place, but not getting some undecided

Hmm, ok let me do some redefinition here

date = you as out a girl for a specific activity (like dinner+movie etc) on a specific date. you pay for said activity. there is some degree of romantic attraction which may or may not involve touching, kissing, or sex(hope this answers it).

going out = one of you asks the other person to go do something. typically it's not specified what you'll be doing, hence the term "going out or hang out" is often used. at the activity, you split the costs with her. there isn't any romantic attraction unless you're both drunk.

Depending on where you live, it could mean exactly the same things:
- Dating someone.
- Seeing someone.
- Going out with someone.
- Hang out with someone.
