One4me: Well, I agree that our government needs changing. But you cannot buy fuel at N99 naira, sell it at N65 naira and expect aa profit (as at 2011)....or even now, import fuel at N200, sell it at N170 and expect a profit We have been selling fuel below the price of its production here in Nigeria. That's why we can't have refinereis because they would end up all losing money. That's why no investor wll come and buy our refinereis because subsidy means they would refine at a loss.. (And the new private ones coming up, with the exception of Dangote are focusing on diesel, kerosene and gas which have no subsidy) |

I'll bet that the refinery was built by a Nigerian. If our refineries are not working, can not work, why is federal govt still allocating billions for its maintenance? Buhari's heart is in Niger republic reason he is building rail to join Niger, signing oil deals with Niger. Selling power to Niger when we don't have enough. Now I remember that a top northerner claimed that federal positions occupied by the people from that country in this dispensation is large. Buhari's poster was even used in the last election there to gain support. Let's be watching. 1 Like |

Conze: lymelyte: In Niger, fuel costs N350 and above per liter. As a result, Niger has enough cash to build and fund a refinery because their domestic oil industry is making enough profit to do so. In Nigeria, until recently, fuel has been sold below the production price because chaps like you think we have the money to subsidse fuel As a result, there isn't enough profit to build, maintain, and run refinereis. By 2011, 80% of our petrol was imported from abroad. |

nobilie: Niger's refinery was a JV between CNPC a chinese company and the Niger government.(information here ) Zinder refinery Niger does not subsidise fuel like we do, so they earn enough profit to keep the refienry running. That's why the chinese company felt comfortable building a refinery there...since petrol is sold at N350 in Niger....enough profit for everyone. |

.You see Buhari govt with their Hausa Fulani poverty senses? Instead of us repairing our own refineries, we are going about looking for more foreign sources of finished goods & they are busy clapping for themselves. Do you now understand why this country is so broke & Buhari moves around the world, cap in hand, begging for money to keep Nigeria afloat. ➿❌❌❌❌❌❌❌ |
Re: FG Signs Fuel Transportation, Storage Deal With Niger Republic by Nobody: 7:49am On Nov 20, 2020 |
MondayOsunbor: The refienry in Niger is owned by the Niger Government and the Chinese company CNPC. No Nigerian ownership whatsoever. Unless Buhari rules Niger too and no one told me. Also, Niger has crude oil. Since 2003 self. As at 2013...they were estimated to have 1 billion barrels of crude in the ground. |
Re: FG Signs Fuel Transportation, Storage Deal With Niger Republic by Nobody: 7:52am On Nov 20, 2020 |
adecz: We can't 'repair our refinereis' because fuel subsidy means that the refienreis would be producing fuel at a loss....making even repairs look like money being wasted. For over 40 years we have been selling fuel at a loss. So long as we made enough income from oil, we got away with it...until the 1990's when problems started. |

It is just so obvious.. The truth is that, if you must steal, you steal outside and hide it in your house to be comfortable and not the other way around. Nigeria is not the home of the north. They know thier history very well more than the Koran itself. They have been looting and stealing outside(Nigeria) and hiding it in thier home(niger,Chad,Sudan). |

PastorGbewiri: Well, I have checked... And Niger's refienry is a JV between the Niger government and CNPC , a chinese oil company. No Nigerian, Fulani or other interests whatsoever. And their refinery works because they sell fuel above N300 naira in Niger...meaning there is enough profit to fund refinery maintenance and other matters there. |

PhiliptheArab:Are you aware port Harcourt refinery wasn't built by the Nigeria government? The same refinery built by the British colonizers there about in 1963 was sold to the Nigerian government, is still operating on the same capacity still today. Check the prices of crude oil from 2009 to late 2014, crude oil prices were up, there were excess in profit, the then finance Minister proposed a excess crude oil account it was opposed, later it was agreed that was how the excess crude oil Account came about. Check what diezani madueke looted from the time of crude oil boom you will wipe, most of those politicians were part of the government when all these looting was going on. Buhari's government came and made promises to Nigerians that wasn't feasible in the long run to Nigerians by saying he will make 1 naira = 1 dollar. He will build a new refinery in 3 years (where is the refineries he promised to build?) The reason buhari is blamed is because he made a promise to Nigerians and that promise is unfulfilled. The reason others are blaming the government is that this Buhari's administration is part of the government that has also failed because of the promise they've failed to deliver. |

Except the Rep. of Niger is paying us for transportation and storage, wouldn't it have been more value for money to simply buy their excess crude for cheap and set up one or two 5000 bpd modular refineries in Northern Nigeria? |

Inverter Battery Bank Batteries are required to store energy from NEPA, Generator or a renewable energy source, e.g. solarxx panels. Batteries are an essential part of any power backup system, and the performance and longevity of your inverter system will mainly be dependent on the quality of the batteries you use. The voltage requirements of your inverter will determine the minimum required size of your battery bank. A 12-volt inverter, for example, requires 12 volts and will work if you connect it to a single 12v battery. A 24-volt inverter will require 24 volts, which you can achieve by connecting two 12 volt batteries in series. Think of a battery like a bucket of energy. It will only hold a certain amount, and no amount of praying and hoping will make it hold more. Battery capacities are given in Ampere Hour (AH), explicitly indicating the inverter’s current supply rate per hour of operation, for instance, a 200 AH inverter battery can deliver 200AH of current for every 60 minutes of activities. The most common inverter battery capacities available in Nigeria are 12v 100AH and 200AH. The minimum required battery bank size may or may not be enough to meet your needs. You can determine the correct sizing for your home by using the Mercury Battery Backup Time Calculator following formula. Amp rating of battery x inverter voltage (assuming 80% efficiency and depth of discharge ) ÷ total load wattage. Example: 200ah (Amp rating of battery) x 24v (Voltage of inverter) assuming 80% efficiency and depth of discharge ÷ 385 watts (Load) = approximately 7 hours. The above is the result of a continuous 385 watts load; in reality, the backup time could be increased significantly by managing the number of appliances you have on at any given time. For example, you may decide to only turn on your TV when your favourite programs are on. Adopting such a disciplined approach could save you a substantial amount of money. You can start with a small battery bank and add more batteries later on if your requirements change. We do not charge for installation, so long as you purchase your system components from mercurydirect.com.ng

same interests that frustrated Nigerian refineries re stakeholders of the Nigeriene refinery. " Speaking shortly after the MoU signing, Sylva expressed delight over the development, describing it as another huge step in developing trade relations between both countries" shame on Amechi and his fellow cohorts who betrayed their region for personal interests. first it was rail line to Niger, today it's petroleum products storage, tomorrow will be transfer of Nigeria's crude to Niger for refining. |
Re: FG Signs Fuel Transportation, Storage Deal With Niger Republic by Nobody: 8:24am On Nov 20, 2020 |
onyechez: 1.I am aware of all the looting...but even then the amount looted won't be enough to fix things. You need far more money than what has been looted under PDP and APC to have a running and exporting petroleum products industry. 2.We can't fix refineres because subsidies means that fuel would be at the end of the day sold below the production cost.....which means any refinery in Nigeria would be working at a loss and not making enough money to keep functioning properly (which is why all our refinereis are in a mess in the first place.). It is for that same reason that we can't build new refienres. Whybuild a new refinery, refine fuel above N160 NAIRA and sell at N120 NAIRA (labour price ) N90 (Atiku price) N86 (gej supporters price) or N40 (Buhari supporters price). You won't make a profit to be able to keep the refienry running. Niger has the same level of crrupt and inefficent leaders...and their fuel industry wroks because the government does not intervene to force fuel to be sold below N150 per liter. Instead they sell fuuel at N350 per liter and earn enough profit to have a great well runnign refinery...that was even built as a JV...and exports to three African countries...Nigeria is no 4. Yes, our leaders are corrupt...but if you made bread at N200 a loaf, and sold it at N50 a loaf, and acceted a subsidy oof N30 per loaf sold....you won't make enough profit to even fix your machines when they break. |

yes they re preparing for that day. The idiots in the south will keep ranting about insults to their traditional rulers and elders, people who have been reduced to errand boys by their own sons who are governors. They won't think about building a refinery in the south. Thank to the Owerri Amaka crew that is working on that project. |
Re: FG Signs Fuel Transportation, Storage Deal With Niger Republic by Nobody: 8:31am On Nov 20, 2020 |
quentin06: Well, there are at least 4 refineries ongoing in the South ( dangote inclusive) one in imo, one in rivers and one in edo...and then there is Dangote There could be more if NNPC allows marketers the right to control the price of the crude they sell ie total deregulation which would make refining petrol profitable in Nigeria. |
