I am still shocked that there is no law banning Nigerians in Nigeria from owning other forms of life. They hardly give two phucks about human life so why should any rational person expect them to care about dogs or any other kind of pet. I really feel sorry for these dogs.

I completely agree with this line of thought.

It’s a shame that people breed animals for businesses in this country when there’s an obvious epidemic of stray and abandoned dogs, cats and other pets all around Nigeria. Yet these poor animals are left for the poor and destitute to feed on (reason why you’ll notice the poorest of the poor in the society feed on dogs, other pets and endangered species)

Additionally, poverty and the lack of humanity in a vast majority of our people have turned them into living, breathing monsters who deserve the monstrosity they call government.

More so, these animals even when kept as “pets” are often than not kept in despicable living conditions in cages, in the heat, on chains and cages infested with ticks and fleas. Then they wonder why their pets never live long or grow as big as what they see on TV. They always want the pure bred long haired western breed of dogs that are not intended for our climate even by the design of the creator who made them.

Question: why people no dey eat this kind dogs?

Simple answer: Deep rooted mental slavery! This is what makes our people call our own indigenous basenjis, “ekuke” or “bingo”. The false belief that everything western, and all that comes from it, is superior to African.

The reason why we demonise our own culture when in reality demonic practices abound worldwide.

Also, this is the very reason why our women bleach their skin, wear “bone straight” hair and do everything in between to look like anything other than their true beautiful selves or in general have the lowest self esteem amongst women on earth. The reason why our men who aren’t exposed have a false sense of “love” for oyinbo (nothing wrong in loving “oyinbo” or other races for the right and genuine reasons of course).

This is because, parents who are mentally enslaved themselves, raise mentally enslaved children who become men and women. The cycle goes around as it should albeit can be broken by unlearning and re-learning true African history to acquire racial esteem.

Then and only then, can we call our dogs Nigerian basenjis as others call theirs according to their names, such as, British bulldog, American foxhound, American pugabull, Australian retriever and give them the love and care they deserve.

A deep rooted subliminal mental slavery make our people lust over western breeds and hate our own indigenous beautiful breed that are built for our harsh and sunny climate like the melanin on our skin to withstand the elements. All that these basenjis need is love and training.

A dog is a dog!

And anyone who feels indigenous dogs should be eaten and western breeds kept as pets is deep in mental slavery (I do not support speciesism or the eating of any animals whatsoever).

Hope this helps.

U made some sense but didnt answer the question "why people no dey eat this kind dogs"?

Well from my own understanding and little research, there are many reasons and non is because of mental slavery!

Nigeria is not the only dog eating country, we just have few dog eating communities unlike China, Vietnam, Indonesia.... The whole Asian continent! And it doesnt end there; Switzerland & parts of South America. They even have dog eating festivals! The dogs they eat are similar to our local mongrels, special breeds are eaten, not all (check wikipedia for more enlightenment). Our foreign/exotic breed (Rotts, GSD, Caucasians, Boerboels etc) are not on the menu due to parasitic worms, like the infamous Toxocara canis, which can result in blindness, myocarditis and respiratory failure. And also foreign/ exotic breeds where not created to fend for themselves and highly depend on medication to survive. These medications make the meat unfavourable for human consumption.

Asians rank as highest dog eaters, but u will never see them eat their indigenous dogs (Chow chow, Akita, Tibetan mastiff, Tosa inu, sharpie etc). Those dogs were not created for eating, i hope u know man made dogs (all the various breeds) for various reasons and dogs made mongrels...lol. A mongrel is a dog without documented bloodline. Pictures all over the web show mongrels as preferred over pure working/herding/ or showline dogs, which are also more expensive and better used for something else but food.

Is it wise buying a foreign dog just because you want to eat it when that same amount may get you a Ram or cow that has more meat & better nutritional value? Even abroad, pure breed aint cheap. Dog meat lacks nutritional value as goat, ram or cow, thats a fact!

If a foreign dog is eaten, its not because the meat is a staple source, sweet or nutritious, but eaten for survival. After all its still an animal.

Correction; a basenji is a breed of its own, an African breed with similar resemblance to the our local dogs but they are not thesame, a basenji is a "barkless dog" with curled up tails. They dont bark at all!

Nigeria is not the only country with stray dogs, even countries with more organized dog communities still have stray dogs and they still have little or no value anywhere.
do you want to know why people don't use local dogs for businesses?
get an adult female local dog and breed and produce a litter and see how bad the market value is, apart from this, these dogs are mostly mutts with no specific origin, ancestry or records.
which smart dog breeder would pick dogs from the street to do business?
if you want to have 101 local dogs in your compound then you are free to do so.
asking why people don't use stray dogs for businesses and implying it's discrimination is really ignorant and faux intelligence and wokeness

I stand on what I said that Nigerians eat their indigenous dog breeds, whether mongrel or basenji or African hound and not western breeds because of a deep seated mental slavery and poverty.

Now with regards to your hypothesis on antibiotics used in western dog breeds which make their “meat”unsuitable or unpalatable please do a thorough research(you could watch H.O.P.E on YouTube for starters) , because even the so called livestock people eat is laced with all kinds of antibiotics and antibiotic resistant microbes and viruses. This is one of the primary reasons humans experience drug resistance in medicine. Also, citing Asians who eat anything that moves including humans as an example is, I’d say, weak.

Nigerian stray dogs are not basenjis, basenjis don't bark, have you ever seen a stray dog that doesn't bark?

do people not keep local dogs as pets and security? is their a law that said you weren't allowed to do so?
how is not liking a particular breed of dog mental slavery?
do you think Nigeria is the only country that imports dogs?
do you think the German Shepard and Rottweiler are American breeds? we're they not imported along with countless other breeds too to America?
why are you not ranting that Americans loving German Shepherds is mental slavery?

before you push this your "politically correct, modern, all-inclusive" agenda reason and do research
every country has strays, every country imports foreign dogs and no smart business man wanting his business to grow would do business with the least valuable type of dog in his country.
it's that simple, if you want a local dog, get one and stop ranting on social Media like you have ever adopted a stray dog before just to make yourself feel better and "just and fair"

FYI, people eat foreign breeds too.
the ones who can get them eat them.
you won't see dog meat restaurants selling foreign breeds because they are expensive.
a mutt can cost 3k a pup and a German Shepherd (the average price for an okay one) would cost 30k+ and it's one of the cheapest foreign breeds.
so which one do you think would be more popular for dog eaters?
people that are able to get foreign breeds to eat eat them, I've personally seen it happen plenty times.
spending 8k for a local dog that you want to eat is over 300% smaller than spending on a foreign dog.
minus that, people say the local ones taste better

All you have said about the business angle to this in Nigeria boils down to mental slavery, wide spread mental slavery.

People import dogs all over the world yes, but they cherish their indigenous breeds and do not specifically hate their own. Bottom line, mental slavery.

But it is mental slavery and poverty though. That’s what make our people eat all sorts in the name of “meat”.

I’m done with this topic, anyway all animal based proteins are bad, matter of fact the human dentition was not made for meat but I guess that’s a topic for another day.

this whole statement is not something I will argue with an adult about, I promised myself I wouldn't waste time arguing this with someone who got their nutrition degree from vegan articles and YouTube videos.
