I think it will look fine. I am waiting on the owner of the house to make a decision on ornamental designs before we start the wall screeding.

Yes, 1mm single core cables are used for lighting points like bulbs and its switches in this era of low wattage appliances like bulbs and LED fittings. Companies that manufacture complete gauge products are always preferred. 1mm cable in a good company doing complete products is almost equivalent to 1.5mm cable in a company with less quality products.
