The house agreed on that and he was not only invited but was compel to attain the next sitting which he did. In the US the constitution stated that the president can only be compel to attain a sitting when there is a treat to national security. But in nigeria it is written that the president [may] attend when invited, the word "may, is the contending word here, which means he can not be compel but can only be invited which also means he can decline an invitation by the house due to what is known as separation of power.

The Nigerian constitution is crude. It needs an overhaul. So many limitations, ambiguities and loopholes. It's not uncommon for laws to have more than one interpretation and I understand the concept of exceptions in law but what we have in Nigeria is just vague. It's not detailed enough to explicitly exclude or disprove some interpretations or arguments thus increasing the subjectivity in the judiciary system to an unhealthy level. Heck, some cases don't even have provisions at all. We can't continue deceiving ourselves like this.

My dear, forget the law; the person involved is the problem. Even if the Constitution says that Buhari must appear before a joint section of the national assembly to address Nigerians every month, Buhari will flout it. Guess what, nothing will happen.

Just pray for God's blessings and forget about what the so-called leaders do. In a sane country, Buhari would have been impeached (removed from office) a long time ago. However, ours is far from sane.
