The OP only need to know that miracles can't happen without the involvement of spirit (God) so there is nothing like real or fake miracles, miracles are the handiworks of unseen highly intelligent beings. All spirits can bring about miracles whether God, angels or demons. The purpose of Miracles after Jesus' ascension to heaven was to fulfill the prophesies of Joel that God will pour out his spirit on many Jews (Christians specifically) to prove that another covenant has just been established and the Jews who wants to continue worshiping the God of Moses must abandon the old arrangement {Deuteronomy 18:15-18} (Temple, Levitical Priesthood, Sacrifices, Incense and the laws that comes with that covenant) to become Christians! Romans 10:1-4 God established the first covenant using great miraculous works with Moses as the mediator so the last covenant also must be established with great miraculous works and Jesus as the mediator. That's why the miraculous works must end after the establishment of Christianity {1Corinthians 13:8-10} because it has served the purpose for which it came. Note that after the establishment of the first covenant Israelites don't need miracles anymore to convince them that the God that made a covenant with them is all powerful. So after the completion of the Bible there is no need for miracles again as honest hearted and sincere individuals only need to prove their LOVE for God based on what they've learned and not on seeing miracles! 1Corinthians 13:13 The FRUIT of God's holy spirit is the only sign Jesus himself confirmed as the proof of true worship {Matthew 7:15-20} as God's spirit can't work with unbelievers, they need to see what can't be found elsewhere which is the results of Faith in the midst of God's people! Matthew 5:13-16; John 13:34-35; John 17:20-23 But if it's just about miracles, there is no religion on the surface of this earth that doesn't perform miracles of some sort.
