Finnese001: And I dare you to float a regional Igbo party and contest the presidency and see how Nigerians will reject you.. At least the Yorubas have dared to contest under their political umbrella . Same thing with the north. Why has you big for nothing majority tribal party APGA never deemed it fit to field a candidate for presidency but always adopting PDP candidates? It's because you Igbos know that you are bad market . Let APC field an Igbo president and see the shocking landslide defeat they will receive. The north will reject you The middle belt will never vote an Igbo The Yoruba will rather float their own candidate than subscribe to any igbo candidate And we in the Niger Delta will remind you of your place as slaves and porters to the white Colonialists. 5 Likes |

The only thing that okorofied Jew larper Finnese001 is claiming as superiority over the good people of the Better South is population figures . Finnese001 at least you know your betters . I think it is about time we did another round of culling and harvesting as you slaves are getting too riotous and boastful these days in that your Goshen region. This time the ovens will be real and not like the holohoax Hollywood movie written, directed and produced by Moshe Judas Goldberg. 2 Likes |

bigpriik: We in SS have no local name. So, U think the SS will have problems if we become a country? Lol. Never, we zone public offices a lot in SS. From Edo, Bayelsa, Delta, there is a lot of zoning & we respect that. |

nettpen: Simple as that, you don't have a local name and that's the answer to my question lol But your people are just wailing uncontrollable because of a simple question |

nettpen: Oga having a new country is a total ball game entirely,it takes a lot of sacrifice and years of instability before the country stands as one , only biafra will find it easy because we have taken years to plan it and we already have a leader Nnamdi kanu and his ipob group will lead without any resistance because they have majority support of igbos, believeing that ijaws ibibios ,efiks edos etc will all agree to one political ideology is unrealistic their differences will surely create problems.. |

Finnese001: Not all SS or Niger Deltan will want to answer your question directly because it has never being a problem to us. But let me try to explain very clearly. If the Binis give the entire region one name, the other tribes will feel insulted. If the Ijaws try to give the region one Ijaw name, the other regions again, will feel insulted. So what do we do, we call it a general name which is, Niger Delta or SS. Just like other regions, SW, SE & North. You all try to dominate, then you rebel & fight. You are angry when U see an Arabic word in our currency, U fight when the Yorubas say they are more superior. For the past 60 years, Igbo, Yoruba & Hausas have been fighting. My question is this, when will U all stop fighting & start building? 2 Likes |

Re: A Question For All Niger Deltans by nettpen: 7:46pm On Dec 17, 2020 |
bigpriik: We fight but not for 60 years like the Yorubas, Igbos & Hausas have been doing? Let's take Delta for example, Delta has been ruled by Deltans from three different tribes without bloodshed. Ibori, Uduaghan & Okowa all from different tribes & the circle will likely continue. Same thing in Edo. Edo people know that the next tribe to take governorship seat in the state next is Esan, that's a gentle man's agreement being practiced in Edo, that is already bringing dispute between the Yorubas & Hausa in APC. |

Re: A Question For All Niger Deltans by gidgiddy: 8:04pm On Dec 17, 2020 |
BigBabyJesus: Some wrong facts here. 1)The first coup was not an Igbo coup. Non Igbo participants such as Ademoyega(Why we struck), Oyelowo(Reluctant Rebel) have said so in their books. Majority of ring leaders of every coup ever conducted in Nigeria usually come from a section of the country. So it its pure mischief that out of the many coups that happened in Nigeria, the one that Igbos were heavily involved in is the only one that has ethnic tag. 2) Remarkably, the man who led that coup, Major Nzeogwu, is from the so called Niger Delta. When it comes to first coup, Nzeogwu is an Igbo man. But when it comes to his home town, Okpanam, it is not Igbo land, but Niger Delta 3) If there was any leader who kept the constitution as close to the original independence constitution, it was Ironsi. Ironsi met 4 Regions, resource control, fiscal federalism and the original revenue sharing formular agreed at independence. All if them disappeared under subsequent regimes. Decree 34 only standardised the civil service, it never destroyed true federalism. 4) Isaac Boro only declared his fellow Ijaws of the Eastern Region as Niger Delta Republic. Today, some people who were not even in the Eastern Region, such as Edos and Urhobos, are claiming to be Niger Deltans. What is even more laughable is that an Uhrobo man will be claiming that Igbos are trying to rope him into Biafra without his consent. But the same Uhrobo man has no problems roping Efik, Ibibio and Ogoja into the phantom "Niger Delta" even though the Uhrobo man has no historical contact ir relationship with these people. Hypocrisy 5) People talk about "5 states" forgetting that all 36 states in Nigeria were the illegal creation of the military. In reality, Igbos are actually indigenous to 12 states in Nigeria, and had states been created democractically, the so called 5 states would have been considerably larger 6) There are no Regions in Nigeria. The constitution does not recognize anything called Niger Delta, South South or South East. At best South/South and South are just geographical expressions. 7) Igbos annexing the South South? Igbos have never been empire builders, it has never interested them. Unlike Yorubas, Hausa/Fulani and Bini's who went about conquering and seizing other peoples lands, Igbos never had expansionist dreams. If anything, it is Igbos who have tried to liberate others from bondage. The Biafra you talk about, most Igbos want it created by referendum, to allow all to chose their destiny. This is a far cry from this failed country called Nigeria that was created by the guns of Lord Lugard. Someone who was made "Nigerian" by force with no choice, is angry at being given the choice of being Biafran or not, by referendum? That is another laughable one 3 Likes |

Op, what is the relevance of this thread? Honestly, I don't get the meaning of your question. They are called Niger Delta based on the geography of the area while they're also called South South politically for want of a better name. It doesn't mean they don't have cultural names or identities such as Ijaw, Efik, Ibibio, Bini, Igbos etc. Stop culture-shaming them because no one actually choose which culture or identity to belong at birth. No matter what happens, they will forever remain our closest neighbors. |
