How much profit has Kaduna refinery generated to Nigeria’s coffers, after northern military dictators dug pipes from the Niger Delta to Kaduna just to build a refinery? Wasteful adventure with no profit. PMB is making similar mistakes by wasting resources to build gas pipelines from the Niger Delta for gas processing plants in chosen sites in northern Nigeria. 1 Like |

iwaeda: If Dangote makes the request to take over the refineries, PMB shall quickly agree. Meanwhile, Dangote spends loads of its profit in adverts on CNN nearly every few minutes. What’s the essence of naming Dangote every few minutes on CNN? Does Dangote operate for CNN’s benefit? 1 Like |

I bet with my small left nyash that FG will never accept this offer as fixing the dysfunctional refineries is not their problem, FG can fix it if they want, what is important to them is the mullah the FG is making through the importation of refined fuel from other countries. 1 Like |

thebosstrevor1: Thank you my brother, i guess some people just Dont know what going on in the oul sector, anything they agree just to insult the goverment, you allow d oil cabal repair the refinery then you just gave the greedy oil mafia the power they been craving for. Una go buy fuel for 500 naira. Guess they dont even know d people in the down stream sectors very corrupt and profit driving people. That refinery needs to be taken down and new one built, they are obsolete, we need mordern day refineries. |
Re: Oil Marketers Tell FG To Allow Them Fix Nigeria's Refineries by Keemsleek005(m): 1:35pm On Dec 20, 2020 |
Nchenches: Yoo so wrong sir, during obasanjo regime the refineries were almost sold to dangote and otedola but the labour kicked against it and it was reverted and as of jonathan regime over 10 companies got licences to build refineries and ni single one made any attempt to do so until all the licenses were withdrew from them. Our rifineries are old and outdated, nigeria need to build new ones. When you talk about the oil cabals or oil mafias they from the down stream sector. |

iwaeda:fix wetin... its like dis ppl no understand how e dey go. I personally desire we fix those refinery so price of PMS and other petrochemical wont be affected by dollar fluctuation. but as dangote is about becoming the major if not sole supplier of PMS in Nigeria and even export to other countries those refineries can never work. |

Na today? FG will never agree. Simply because it pays some terrible people more if it was not functioning, so they can always allocate money for TAM yearly and get no results. Dangote offered to buy some refineries, they refused. 2 Likes |

Ghostmode2two: Oil de your head jor. The same government used $1.9 billion to build railway in order to link Nigeria to Niger so that they can import petroleum to Nigeria. I'm pretty sure that that money can repair ours. It's obvious that the government are doing their best not to make Nigeria work. 1 Like |

thebosstrevor1: You are correct. Imagine where were the oil marketers all this while they were milking the nation, government is broke due to covid-19 hence turning the gaze at refinery just to have access to crude oil and then bring us to the same situation we are having with power distribution companies today. |
Re: Oil Marketers Tell FG To Allow Them Fix Nigeria's Refineries by Keemsleek005(m): 2:06pm On Dec 20, 2020 |
heniford2: How can goverment fix price when it's not a partnership stuff. Means they will b in charge of the refineries till the end of which ever years the agreement expires. We talking about removing subsidy and we shouting increament wait till they have the refinery then, you will know how greedy they are. That refinery are old, we need to build new Morden refineries. |
Re: Oil Marketers Tell FG To Allow Them Fix Nigeria's Refineries by Agbegbaorogboye: 2:08pm On Dec 20, 2020 |
“So there should be a way of domesticating our prices, which should be by making sure that we have crude oil available for these refineries to refine and sell domestically first. Claudiusdeux. It seems the marketers believe in local refining and local control of prices. Does that not negate Dangote who believes in local refining but international control of prices. There's something at play here and I think we should find out. 1 Like |

omowolewa: Yes, it should be given out free to them bcoz I don't know the essence of holding 4 refineries, spending billions of dollars and yet no drop of Pms came out of it. In fact, in an ideal society those people that spent such mind blowing amount should be sent to jail. Nigerians are suffering and frustrated. Something should be done bcoz every thing about us revolves around petrol and its price movement. 1 Like |

[quote author=iwaeda post=97248501] https://punchng.com/allow-us-fix-refineries-oil-marketers-tell-fg/ During subsidy regime non of the marketers came up with this idea. Now that easy money is becoming progressively difficult in the sector, they want to fix the refineries. |

CodeTemplar:let me tell you, if marketers are allowed to do that we will be buying fuel at 500 per litre. The problem of fuel in Nigeria is cause by those selfish marketers. They are the ones that pushed federal government to a partial deregulation which inturned make us to be buying fuel at 168 now. The fuel scarcity we usually experience every end of the year is cause by those wicked marketers. Some Nigerians don't know how wicked those marketers are. 1 Like |
