Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Treponema pallidum bacteria that is transmitted by direct contact with a syphilitic sore on the skin and in the mucous membranes. The disease start as a painless sore typically on your genitals, rectum, or mouth.


Syphilis can be transmitted mainly through close contact with an infected sore. This usually occur during vagina, anal, MouthAction or by sharing intimacy gadgets with someone who is infected. Pregnant women with syphilis can transfer the infection to their unborn baby. It is possible you get infected, if you inject yourself with drugs and share needles with someone who is infected or through blood transfusions . It can be spread through shared contact with surfaces like doorknobs or tables.

After it enters the body through mucous membranes or skin, it reaches the regional lymph nodes within hours and quickly spread through the body.
