Cause the stories are usually made up to stir people's emotions.

They're fake.

Reading posts like this always makes me shocked that there are still people in Nigeria who believe they are living in a sane country.

You're absolutely right, Nigeria isn't a sane country.

There's joy for a soul that repents. As sad as it may seem, it's better to always place energy more on repentance than on judgment.

You people don't know anything at all.
Even if it is in the US or UK he won't be prosecuted why?
For a Criminal to be prosecuted he has to be a suspect in a particular case, you can't just arrest people on hearsay or based on confession in the church. Even if there is an investigation going on and a priest revealed that a man confessed to a crime during his confession, that is still not enough evidence to pin him down.
A criminal can only be prosecuted if he makes the confession in the police station or court.
Even if he can be prosecuted for confessing openly the question now is, to which case is he the suspect?
You don't know the case number, or the victims, of his criminal exuberant. Okay you charge him to court, you have to provide the victims if not your case is dead.
The only way you can link him is if he already is a suspect to a particular case and he made such confession. If the confession is not written down by the suspect in the station the case is still weak.
