yea. it is a combination of being lucky and a very good strategy. my take is don't be swayed by that. Just keep fine tuning your methods

I am trading gu and egbp..... Looking forward to 1.395/1396 and 0.868****.

I have pending sell at 1.3950 & buy at 0.8685. Target 1.3775 because I expect a continuation of the uptrend at 1.3755. 1.43*** is the goal thou.
All these are expectations and if price does something different, I will switch as well.

Gold has a different pip count to currencies. Alot of people are used to the currency pip count thats why i dont mention it to avoid confusion but am used to the gold pip count.

The question should be; what was his entry price? Then we can deduce the pips count up to the current price on the screenshot.

Gold pips counts is the same with currency pips counts.

The standard which brokers use to quote their instruments are 2 and 4 decimal places and xauusd is 2 decimal places, though a few brokers quote in 3 and 5 decimal places instead.
If gold moves from 1850 to 1851 that is one point or one dollar.
If it moves from 1850.00 to 1850.99 that is 100 pips.
I stand to be corrected.

201 pips multiplied by 0.01 lot size(10 cents per pip) equals 2001 cents.
100 cents make a dollar.
2001 cents divided by 100 equals 20 dollars.
Yet I made 2 dollars.

The explanation i can give you is since its a dollar account and based on your lot size, for every pip move you gain or lose 0.01 cent and not 10 cents.

For abc/usd and usd/abc pairs.
0.01 lot size means 10 cents per pip.

Check the long/short position tool on tradingview, it should corroborate what am saying. It uses ticks for pips.

A $10 price change for gold is the equivalent of 100 pips of EURUSD.

If the price of gold falls from 1900 to 1890 ($10 price change), this will be the equivalent of EURUSD declining from 1.2100 to 1.2000 (100 pips).

The best explanation I can give u is,
From ur screenshot I can approximate ur entry to be around 1820.
Price is around 1794 at the time of typing.
Your approximate profit pips is 260 x 0.25 = $650.
But going by your own explanation, then u should be having around $6500 profit.
