You are Skillfully Created for Good works!

Yesterday, we discussed an interesting subject relating to how artistically crafted we are in Christ. today, we will be putting it in the right context and extracting the full juice.

Let's look at our anchor scripture once again by reading

Ephesians 2: 8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

These verses gives a beautiful background about our salvation by grace. We didn't and cannot earn salvation strictly by our own act of kindness and good deeds; our salvation is a gift and it's predicated on the finished work of Jesus. Now think about this, do we deserve it? Certainly not! But this is what the Bible says and I believe it.

Now in this light let's look at

Verse 10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The Greek word for workmanship is "Poiēma" which means to be made and crafted in form of an Artwork with a purpose and intention! In context, it show we are skillfully grafted in Christ for good works. Hallelujah.

Good works is God's plan after our salvation. It is not our Good works that gives us salvation. Did you get that? This should help you fully grasp the plan of God for your life. If you are born again, You have been recreated for good works, to spread the love of Jesus to people around you. you are a work of Art, skillfully crafted for excellence. Treat your body with value and respect, preserve it for the master's use which is for good works.
Good works isn't restricted to good morals and godly living, it also taps into our creative potentials to co-create with God and create good things for others to enjoy. Hallelujah!

Prayer
Thank you Jesus for your gift of salvation in my life. Grant me the grace to bring forth good works in righteousness, to co-create with you and bring forth inventions for others to enjoy. Amen.

as the passage you quoted implies... " ...by grace and faith... " no one can save him or herself, it's a gift from and of God. what lies in our hands as humans is we striving to " keep" the Salvation. selah
