Disclaimer12:yea! right, they are just being honest about their country and what is happening in their country. What good would it do Nigerians if they are pretending that everything is okay in Nigeria while it isn't? Maybe there are no good news about nigeria because you didn't give any example of any good news in nigeria yourself. Peharps because their are none. The best way to solve Nigerian problems is to recognise that there are problems first. Maybe you are just being optimistic about nigeria but other nigerians do not feel that way. So they have the right to say what they like and feel about nigeria, it is their country afterall. And yes! It is about APC and PDP parties partisanisms are what has ruined Nigeria. Every 4 years the same rubbish, the same crooks are recycled back into power. Nigeria has being ruined to the point of no return. Believe it or not, or atleast be a little honest to yourself and recogmise that.. Foreign investors are not staying away because of what nigerians are saying on social medias about nigeria, they are running away because they could see that nigeria has no potentials, that nigeria is full with corruptions. Full with untrustworthy people, full with violence and terrorism they are not stupid they can see these things themselves without nigerians mentioning them. Imagine, no common electricity for over 50 years in nigeria and this recent corona virus palliatives scams, Some officials were taking bribes to issue out FAKE negatives corona results, no accountabillities, no one is held responsible, no nothing! The system is rubbish! Last year there was a case of billions looted, during interrogations on live TV ond of the looters pretended to colapse, till date no one! No one has ever mentioned the case ever again, the looters are still driving around in expensives Range Rovers spending their loots. I mean, should I carry on? Lots of cases of human rights abuses by law makers, police, politicians, the Army, governors demolishing citizens hotels and properties, high level of insecurities, the recent ENDSARS killings, these are what foreign investors are running from, it is NOT what Nigerians are saying on social media.. you need to wake up! Man! I don't even live in Nigeria but i know these things, same way other foreigners know them, even Nigerian leaders hates Nigeria, hence they aquire large and expensive properties in foreign countries, they dump their billions of looted nigeria funds in foreign banks, they also hates nigerians. Buhari went on international news and called nigerian youths lazy youths. remember? David cameron former british prime minister called nigeria fantastically corrupt nation and buhari agreed. Your write up was good by the way. Cheers! |

Farki: Where did this notion that the Chinese will eventually take it over come from? We paid the Chinese about 20% of total cost and they borrowed us the balance with the cost of building it factored in. When the Japanese build cars and sell to the whole world, will you still say the Japanese own those cars? When JB build bridges for us, will you still say they own those bridges? Why so negative when you can do much better? 1 Like |

Truth is bubu effort in infrastructure is really commendable...it not about starting a project or initiation.. completing it is of utmost importance...even if life it not how u start that really matters but how u end... Secondly the economic issues and the situation that we have to borrow for everything is simply because Oil has lost it glory..and previous administration when oil was still very sweet didn't use the money for anything..we have more infrastructure under bubu Dan any government...and the previous administration couldn't diversify when dey had the money and chance to do it... This is why bubu increased VAT and is taxing almost everything from stamp duty to corrier service..u name it ..so it looks like he is being wicked..but the truth is ..this tax system is normal in every other country.. Nigeria just has a poor tax system that y government since 1980s depended on oil so much.... Also the fall in oil prices raised dollar price and ofcourse everything became extremely expensive.. The country position today is as a result of the partly contribution of previous administration in the economy especially in diversifying Badguy89: |

TheDestroyer:Is it lack of patriotism on the part of the citizens denied dignified living and have given up hope or lack of patriotism from those in power who loot and steal, who have no shame running abroad to seek Medicare while they don’t trust our “good” healthcare back home even National Hospital in Abuja is not even patronized by our darling Bubu, to get education for their kids while the leave our “good” & “uninterrupted” educational system, the go to Dubai, US and UK for holiday but leave our places tourist attraction, we refine our oil abroad with no functional refinery, no national air carrier, no national shipping carrier, no national telecommunications corporation and you talk of patriotism and national pride. Please go for brain check |

Disclaimer12: Abegi. That is what democracy is all about. Anyone who has any iota of leadership knowledge and experience at any level will understand that criticism is an integral part of leadership and is there to prove or disprove focus. That you expect as a leader to be applauded does not connote service but suggets that favours are being done and in Africa this is deadly. We have not even scratched the surface of good governance in Nigeria or selfless sevice and you want us all to become communists in applause. Don't even go there. No leader present or future and no government on the left or right will rule without scathing dismissal. That is a given in any democracy particularly one that is misfiring. I like the airport. Nice. But I like rhe critcism as well so, it is absolutely rubbish. One thing for sure. I will not clap for anyone who said he comes to govern as sacrificial service. You should not. 1 Like |

Latvin: Because forfeiture of assets to pay debt is what we agreed to in order to get the loan in the first place. https://guardian.ng/business-services/500m-chinese-debt-sparks-confusion-in-airport-concession/ To save you the trouble of reading “The new terminal buildings in these five international airports were constructed with $500m China loan. We are all now aware of the Mezzanine clause in all Chinese sponsored infrastructure by which they lay claim to the infrastructure should the host country default in payment. If Nigeria should fail to pay as and when due, China would seize the infrastructure, administer it and recover their investment. and because China has done this before https://www.africanliberty.org/2018/09/10/like-zambia-sri-lanka-also-handed-over-port-to-china-to-pay-off-debt/ You say I'm being negative when I am simply telling you the truth. Buying a car is different from taking out a loan to from China to pay their Chinese workers to construct something China will eventually takeover. Allowing foreigners to both give loans and build state assets themselves when they have a reputation for expansionism is dangerous. |
