At least one dead, several cars burnt as fuel tanker explodes in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Southwest Nigeria.

XpresstvNaija gathered that the explosion occurred around 8:15 am, Tuesday morning when the tanker lost control and crashed into a commercial avenue.

The explosion is said to have affected a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) branch and facilities used by Lawson Group School, Kuto road, Abeokuta.

The accident triggered a widespread panic amongst commuters and residents nearby. 

As at the time of this report, men of the Fire Services are seen on location tackling the fire.
