Yorubas Have Taken Over Nollywood - A Well Researched Case Study. by Infolenka: 12:19pm On Jan 23, 2021
I'm not trying to be divisive, but from observation and research it's clearly evident that Yorubas are at the fore front in Nollywood as far as the current Nigerian movie market is concerned.

Nollywood movie production has grown to the level where talented actors, skilled directors, seasoned producers and gifted writers are making movies produced for cinema viewing and these movies usually cost a lot of money to produce and consequenty gross in millions of dollars after their release.

It's sad to note that whereas the bulk of Yoruba directors and actors are making and being featured in these modern high budget movies, the bulk of Igbo directors and Actors are still focusing their attention on low-budget, rural focused village movies that lack financial value.

Why this is the case is quite shocking to me , giving that alot of the veteran Nollywood actors and directors are Igbo.

Like I've said already, this isn't an opinion but a fact and I'll prove my assertion with this thread.

Beware Nigerians. This is the time to know and understand the true identity of those who cause tribalism on here, they are paid agents, they are neither from east or west, some are not Nigerian. They have more than twenty monikers, they would create tribal related topics and make tribal comments with different monikers to cause chaos between southerners. Though, they have no conscience but you can try to educate them or better ignore them. They are easy to identify, use your head brothers.
They dominate this platform. They are evil and restless until their aim is achieved.

I'm not tribalistic, just stating an observation with facts.

I'm listing the highest grossing Nigerian movies, and I'm not done yet.

If mainly Yorubas are featured in the highest grossing movies in nollywood and also making the bulk of directors, producers and writers of those movies, then it strongly imply that they have taken mainstage in Nollywood.

Bros, stop this rubbish you are doing now. SoYoruba shouldn't appear in Nollywood film again. There a lot of non-Yoruba acting and directing in Yoruba film and we aren't coming here to cry. Igbos and South-South took over Nollywood and even Ghallywood and we aren't complaining. We even watch it. now Yoruba are coming up and you have started hating. You don't need this bro. Perhaps as they say you are paid to cause division among the south

Many ignorant, confused people with comprehension problems quoting me to rain insults on me.

You guys are the real tribalists if an ordinary thread like this is making you upset.

I said Yorubas are currently at the fore front of Nollywood as far as high budget blockbuster movies are concerned and I gave proof. If you can't stand the truth then commit suicide. Facts are facts and there is nothing you whiny dolts can do about it.

Keep quiet you tribal bigot. Go to the Cinemas and check the most watched, highly rated Nigerian movies. Most of them are written, directed and produced by mainly Yorubas and Yorubas make majority of the cast.

Nollywood has gone past village love and family feud nonsense that comprise most of the typical home videos that majority of Igbo actors and producers tend to focus on.

The so called Afonjawood is shipping their actors and actresses to Blockbuster movies while talented Igbo actors and actresses are wasting time acting nonsense that doesn't get any sort of reputable critical acclaim.
