I even add ignorance and arrogance to your own brand of pompous nuisance.

Being realistic per your situation and condition is not pompous nuisance, it's accepting God's will, learning to live and exist with your condition, making the best of it to keep your sanity in check and for a happy and fruitful life, something that many of you seems not to understand because of your misguided belief system and religious arrogance.

You have a lot to learn from that young man.

If Yinka ayefele is still having the believe that one day he will rise up and walk with his legs again. Then what's stopping this boy from believing

After all so many people still believe that Nigeria Will someday become great despite the numerous challenges tearing us apart

Ayefele would never walk unless modern science viz robotics, Neuralink implants or the likes are applied.

If God made him disabled because he would be pompous, why are other pompous kids from rich homes not born disabled? Is his disability divinely orchestrated or is it just a natural happening and lot that could have happened to anyone regardless of their character?

God's mysterious ways, in effect, are remarkably similar to his nonexistence. Events always occur and proceed as you would expect if there was no god and man was left to fend for himself.

Shows you how some people twist God and religion to justify their own dark hearts, misguided and evil mindset.

"...that awkward moment of staring at each other" .

Imagine a pastor commanding the guy to stand up and walk, and nothing happens. The guy will just stare hard at the pastor like "so where do we go from here after raising my hope on top nothing" while the pastor will think in his mind - " God, wetin dey happen? Gbenga Daniel became the Governor in 2003. Before then he (Gbenga Daniel) held no political posts and was a successful Engineer/Business man.

Why aren't ALL governors (or presumably poor performing governors) with disabled children?

Or better still are all Nigerian paraplegics children of governors/politicians?

There is no point hoping for impossibility.
A disabled person who on medical ground is unable to walk for obvious reasons should not bother seeking spiritual help and this is common in Nigeria.
They're well rehabilitated abroad and leave a normal life rather than waste time waiting for God to change the situation based on religious sentiment.
How many disabled people had been healed by all the Pentecostal Churches in Nigeria
They asked them to go back home and expect miracles...
African Mentality !!!

There are things we say because we have not found yourself in such situation.

I am physically challenged (disabled) due to an accident. It resulted in Spinal Cord Injury.

Is it spiritual? Is it divine? Or what gan gan? Those are the million questions I have asked myself.

The answer you want to know..

God is God will continue to be to God no matter what humans think.

He said, I am God. I can use any of my hand made things including human to perform anything I so wish. Therefore, God knows why it happened.

Do you know I also ask myself, if this did not happen, what about if something worse? . You ask such as? I commit a crime and sent to jail for life

Which is more preferable..? Being disable and being jailed for life for a crime you know nothing about.

Since then, I believe if I'd walk again, God knows and if not, so be it. I have moved on.

17yrs on Wheelchair. I have achieved what my mates who ain't disabled haven't.

B.Sc, PGD, Masters..

Married

Good Job

Drive

Etc

In all, thank God no matter your situation.

Strive to move on..

Starting over is never late.

I started all over at 27..

Note.. I rarely go to church due to same reason Debola gave. In the padst 17yrs, I have attended church less than 25times. Religion is your attitude and mindset and not hypocrisy performed in several churches.

Praise works for me than prayers.. Understand your path with your creator. Then, you will understand religion

So of all you've been through it's pastors or people who are praying for you you decide to castigate publicly, they are now your problem. These are people who wish you well even though there might be some among them with ulterior motive. Unfortunately if you are contented with your present state you would have just ask them not to bother to pray for you don't need it rather than bring such to an open space. No wonder Smith Wigglesworth of blessed memory, if my memory isn't failing me, turned his back on a royalty who although was sick and invited him over was acting like the pompous Naaman in the bible, the man of God simply turned back and walked away. Naaman the captain of Syrian army would have lost his healing from leprosy even though he was a great warrior because of pride and arrogance, God is not your mate if people want to pray for you better believe and get your blessing than destroy whatever chances there are available for your healing through unbelieve and foolish talk.

2 kings 5: 1-19

1. Now Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He was a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded, because through him the Lord had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy.

2. Now bands of raiders from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, and she served Naaman’s wife.

3. She said to her mistress, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.”

4 Naaman went to his master and told him what the girl from Israel had said.

5. “By all means, go,” the king of Aram replied. “I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” So Naaman left, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold and ten sets of clothing.

6 The letter that he took to the king of Israel read: “With this letter I am sending my servant Naaman to you so that you may cure him of his leprosy.”

7 As soon as the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his robes and said, “Am I God? Can I kill and bring back to life? Why does this fellow send someone to me to be cured of his leprosy? See how he is trying to pick a quarrel with me!”

8 When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his robes, he sent him this message: “Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

9 So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha’s house.

10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”

11 But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.

12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.

13 Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!” 14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

15 Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and said, “Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.”

16 The prophet answered, “As surely as the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will not accept a thing.” And even though Naaman urged him, he refused.

17 “If you will not,” said Naaman, “please let me, your servant, be given as much earth as a pair of mules can carry, for your servant will never again make burnt offerings and sacrifices to any other god but the Lord.

18 But may the Lord forgive your servant for this one thing: When my master enters the temple of Rimmon to bow down and he is leaning on my arm and I have to bow there also—when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the Lord forgive your servant for this.”

19 “Go in peace,” Elisha said.
