Vardanes2: Everyone is blessed in their own way. Remove oil and let those who have it enjoy it. Those who dont have it will work with the ones they have. Some countries make billions from tourism alone. Some make billions from service managements. There are countless of resources across Nigeria. The current system encourages laziness and there is nothing we can do about it becus tribalims comes first. And saying that tribalism should end is a waste of time becus even in the most developed continents and countries, racism has not ended. Humans will always be selfish and there is nothing u can do about that. Europeans understood this and that was why they gave massive room for self determination. It is also on record that Nations develop better than states. States are heterogenous while nations are homogeneous. The few states in Europe, what they did was run a system that grant the nations within these states great length of freedom to manage core issues such as police, resource control, airport, etc. Whites have sense. Na black man mumu pass for this life. Na why the black countries remain extremely poor. And guess what? They will continue to be extremely poor and keep running to white man's countries. The same white men who had sense and organized a system that worked for them. |

Vardanes2: RESTRUCTURING is that all regions should work for its own prosperity. There are states in Nigeria that wants to move forward but the dysfunctional federal system is working against it. States in Nigeria wants to run their own police system but the federal government is fighting against the process. There are many other oppressive system in Nigeria |

Vardanes2:Is this a joke or what? Speak directly. Say corruption has eaten too deep into Nigeria's functionality. We have had the money, always. Just a deep cut mismanagement and misappropriation. |
Re: US Doantes Equipment Worth $325,000 To Nigerian Police Force by Nobody: 5:11pm On Jan 30, 2021 |
wink2015: Nigeria is poor because from independnece we think that the road to development involves selling raw materials and importing stuff that is higher in value than what we export. Restructiring is just a means of arguing over how we share that revenue from our exporting stuff. Another thing, we think we deserve a free lunch...which is why we have issues in our power and petroleum sector because we think we should sell things below the profit of what we earn. Plus , on the matter of state police....how will states fund the police when the overall tax to gdp ratio in this country is very very low? When the price of the raw materials we sell is not controlled by us...it is controlled outside? At the end of the day, we need to restructure our economy before we restructrure politically, or else there would be war over control of resources. |

madridsta007: You may be right but Nigeria is still an important ally to the USA is combatting terrorism in westAfrica. can you imagine what would happen if Boko haram took control of the country or if They even managed to take over the Northeast and establish a caliphate like ISIS did in Iraq/Syria Nigeria armed forces is ranked the fourth strongest military in Africa and we are the largest economy, if Jihadists took over the country it would destabilize the entire continent This is why the USA will continue to sell arms to Nigeria 1 Like |

Draslo: So, you expect a police force that gets 1 billion dollars to police 200 million poeple to perform like the polcie force that gets ten billion dollars to police 60 million people?(the UK to give an example.).? Yes, my making the comment i made does not exculde corruption, so let's get rid of that strawman you put up. Infact, corruption in Nigeria is making a bad situation worse. This is not a joke. Nigeria is a poor country, and the extoriton and so on you see is a result of our poverty. (Mismangement and corruption are just fruits of the main tree so to speak). And we are poor because our economic policy is basically sell raw materials, and import stuff in value more than what we export. Plus, we don't even control the price of what we are selling. And when the price falls...take loans to make up the deficit. Meanwhile, keep tax rates low.And keep corruption high. |

Joe biden didn't donate much needed hospital equipments, he didn't donate food palliatives, he didn't donate schools or educations equipments to Nigeria. He donated more guns and bullets to Nigerian police to use in killing more innocent Nigerians. And some of these stupid nigerians are jubilating and praising murderer and peadophilic Joe biden. |

Reference: Good, then let's stop complaining about how bad the police is, because we aren't rich to fund them adequately. What we pay for is what we get. We cannot get a Ferrari at the cost of a second hand bicycle. We cannot expect the NPF to be like the NYPD at a cost far less than what the NYPD spends in a year. And yes, before you start....I don't like the way things are. But if we want a better Nigerian polcie force, either we raise our tax to gdp ratio from the 5.8% it is now, to 35% and above..so that we can get enough money to fund the police, or we, as I have said earlier....accept the police force we have right now, and stop complaining. |

Kudejo: It is not, "I may be right". It is, "I am right". Any nation- the US, Russia, China, etc, openly giving Nigerian Security forces arms and ammunition especially at the backdrop of a globally-lauded protests against the Human Rights record of its police and army, is insensitive and is essentially spitting on the efforts and blood of Nigerian youths. I am sure the US knows this, hence they decorated it as a "donation". It is still arms given to a nation with a deplorable Human Rights record. Those guns and bullets will be used on Nigerian Youths. What was the reason again which Obama gave for blocking arms sale to Nigeria during GEJ time? Let me help you: He cited the Leahy Law. The Leahy Laws or Leahy amendments are U.S. human rights laws that prohibit the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense from providing military assistance to foreign security force units that violate human rights with impunity. This Law is still in existence. Anyway, you guys can continue to deceive yourselves. Me, I wont. |

gypsey: It makes a bad situation worse, naturally, because they are looting from a poor treasury. Plus, this is the budget of the Nigeria police...before looting...1.2 billion doollars for 200million people to be policed. The UK spends 24 billion dollars to police 60 million poeple.... Look, even before looting, we are not rich. And even if the billions looted comes back, we have a lot of other things to spend it on...educaiton, health, defence, etc...before it reaches police. |

That’s about a million naira worth of equipment. Mscheew. Our elite class can do a lot better. Since they are well secured already, they don’t give a flying Bleep. Correction: One hundred million Naira plus. I can admit when wrong and just did so. Our elites will never do this. The white man tried. |
