Hon. Barr. Emeka Okoroafor, member representing Isuikwuato state constituency in Abia State House of Assembly has said traditional rulers are worried over the spate of insecurity on his constituency in particular and Abia in general.

He also said they can't speak up for fear of being sacked from the throne, maintaining that that is how much the traditional institution has been bastardised.

Speaking on ABN TV's award-winning programme, Crime Update on Friday in Umuahia, the Deputy Minority Leader of Abia Assembly who said the Traditional Rulers ordinarily should have a role to play in securing their domains expressed concern that the criminal gang perpetrating kidnapping and arm robbery at various locations in Isuikwuato are armed with assault rifles, saying the Traditional Rulers are helpless.

According to the lawmaker, the security concerns have reached an alarming stage because youths of Isuikwuato and Abia State are not licensed to take up automated weapons to secure their parents and siblings, alleging that any attempt to do this will amount to the government labeling them the proscribed IPOB members.
