Some people speaks like robot and this automatically diminish or subdue any comment by such meaningless, a parrot with injure peak.
Tinubu in today politic represent positive impact and great change in rightful dimension of Nigeria democracy. having him threat to those that have chosen to loot this country blindly to the level of no solution, this has directly infected Nigerians brain and submit us to habit of joining the corruption trend if difficult to be control. a situation where corruption became a carrier path it's just unfortunate and I'm sorry for the country and her citizen.
After critical view with Nigeria situation, I've succumb and submit for less corruption but development and people oriented project of good leadership. This is happening in some part of the country Lagos as a vital example in this regard. My question for average Nigerians is why do we chooses to continue answering a bastard and subjets ourself for slavery in our father land?

what does this man smoke, damn .
the arrogance of the manna, see the way he termed acn as MY PARTY.
let him smoke whatever, even your GEJ refers to PDP as my party, there is nothing wrong in the statement. He is a member and founding member for that matter.
I bet you call the church you attend 'my church'
Let Tinubu, I love him because he troubles PDP.

whatever he might be smoking gej needs to get some fast. fact is he brought AES to nigeria and they are the first private company contributing to the financial grid. definitely boastful but he has a lot to boast about even more than fashola for those who really know lago state.
Re: Bola Tinubu; I Am On A Crusade (video) by oderemo(m): 4:31pm On Apr 08, 2011
hey guys lets give it a break for a minute, am definitely not for pdp in a mill. mile, all i am worry about is that we are gradually propping this TINUBU guy up as a demi god and power is one intoxicating weapon as we have witnessed all over the world even in Nigeria.
if we are going to be really frank with ourselves, ACN as a party is not that democratic than PDP or APGA . we will be raising too much our hope if that is the premise by which we are going to during this election cast our votes.
Lets all vote acn, that's fine but we must all work vigorously to change this system that if care is not taken will keep us down the more.

Maybe when Remi Tinubu loses on saturday which i am hoping he does, Tinubu will be humbled and stop imposition of candidates like Lagos is his property. Lagos is for Lagoians and not to be in the hands of one godfather in Bourdillion. 6 members of your family in an election and someone thinks he is fighting for u,give me a break!!

All this PDP this PDP that , if you see all these guys socialising behind closed doors , that day you will weep for common people who kill themselves because of some of these politiicans.

We don't elect people because they are saints or because we want them to be saints. We elect them to manage our affairs, look out for us, protect us and give us good quality of life.

Awolowo was elected to look out for and provide for his people and he did just that. Awolowo not only delivered for his people, decades after, his death, his achievements are yet to be rivaled and duplicated in any way, shape of form.

Many Nigerians are very unsophisticated politically and till it's the other way around, Nigeria is not going anywhere,

Tinubu’s political metamorphosis

The political history of Tinubu who is leader of the ruling ACN is dogged by controversy. Tinubu was introduced into Lagos politics by the Sarumi group of the then SDP in 1991. The Sarumi group at the time wanted somebody who could challenge the candidate of the powerful Jakande group at the primaries of the SDP. To win the Lagos West senatorial ticket of the party with ten local governments, the Sarumi camp wanted somebody financially buoyant to outspend Jakande’s candidate, Dr. Adegbola Dominic. One of the strongest party leaders in the Sarumi group, Alhaji Olatunji Hamzat who was identified as a rich businessman turned down the offer to contest the Lagos West senatorial ticket of the party. His reason: To waste about N2 million on a senate election that may be truncated by the unpredictable Babangida transition programme was unwise. Another Sarumi faithful, Dr. Ayo Kolajo turned down the offer and opted to go to the House of Representatives.

A party faithful brought Bola Tinubu who was ready to spend the money. One of the party leaders told this reporter that: “We recommended that the boy (Tinubu) should give each of the delegates that would vote N250. To our surprise, he gave each delegate N750. At the time, it was a lot of money. He won the primary election convincingly with the backing of the Sarumi group.”

Tinubu who was residing in Victoria Island rented a flat owned by Kolajo in Orile -Agege. The receipt was backdated by two years in order to meet the requirement of the law that a contestant must have lived for at least six months to contest election in an area. His opponents in the Jakande camp never discovered it. He would have been disqualified even after winning the election.

On getting to the Senate, Tinubu mixed with the big guns in Abuja and was one of the closest senators to Moshood Abiola the uncrowned winner of June 12,1993 presidential election. Jakande told reporters when marking his birthday last year that it was Tinubu who came with Abiola to convince him to take up appointment with the General Sani Abacha government.

He was to be deputy governor to Olagunsoye Oyinlola before the military high command decided against having civilian deputies. According to those close to Oyinlola, Tinubu sat with him to decide those who would be commissioners. He later became disenchanted with the Abacha government. He teamed up with others to form the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) that fought the government of Abacha to stand still.

He went on exile when Abacha turned the heat on leaders of the NADECO. When Abacha died and Abdulsalami Abubakar gave those in exile the nod to contest election, Tinubu initially wanted to go back to the senate. He gave Dr. Wahab Dosumu every assurance that he will support his bid to be governor on the ticket of the newly formed Alliance for Democracy (AD). The story changed when Tinubu returned to Nigeria. He contested for the governorship ticket.

The question of who won the AD governorship primaries between late Funso Williams and Tinubu in 1998 may never be resolved to everybody’s satisfaction. What was obvious was that the late Afenifere leader, Senator Abraham Adesanya made sure that the electoral officer in Lagos gave Tinubu the upper hand when he annulled results in places where Williams scored high votes. Not even the Acting national chairman, Chief Ayo Adebanjo could give a satisfactory answer to the question on who won the primaries between Williams and Tinubu. Many were convinced that Williams was robbed because he served in the Abacha administration.

The second time Williams encountered Tinubu as candidate of PDP was in 2003 and many also doubted Tinubu’s victory. When the first set of results from six local governments were announced, Williams was winning. The six local governments are: Ajeromi Ifelodun, Apapa, Badagry, Mainland, Ojo and Amuwo Odofin. Suddenly, the result from Alimosho and Lagos Island wiped off the lead. An angry party member placed the results at his possession, which declared Williams as winner on the Net without the knowledge of party leaders, including Williams. No party leader was ready to make public statement on it. Bode George; the leader of the party in Lagos could do nothing because he had no fact to act on. Again, many believed Williams was cheated. By the time 2007 election was few months away, Williams was killed in his bedroom. His killers were never found.

Tinubu brought Fashola on board and without a strong contender from PDP and with Williams’s supporters backing Fashola, victory was easy.

Tinubu has since expanded his political empire. At least, three governors in the South West are described as his boys. Political opponents refer to the governor of Osun and Ekiti as judiciary governors. The judgment that gave Tinubu’s men victory still rankles in the judiciary. A probe has been instituted.

Tinubu thereafter threw more light on the appointment of members into the State Executive Council of Lagos State. He said it is not the business of the governor to appoint commissioners into his cabinet maintaining that it is the sole responsibility of the party to do so because, many trusted people campaigned with the governor on the field and hence should be rewarded.

"If it were to be Fashola and Co. Company, Governor Raji Fashola would have had the power to choose whoever he wanted to appoint to work with him in his chamber. But contrary is the case when we talk of the appointment of commissioners and special advisers," Tinubu further stated.

Unfortunately for you, this is how it's done everywhere on the surface of the earth.

The party selects public officials within any government, even in America. Obama didn't pick his officials and many are party loyalists and campaign officials, volunteers and donors. Nearly all the ambassadors are party loyalists and rewarded campaign donors .

GEJ picked his cabinet members by himself? NO, PDP picked them based on party arrangements.

Take that nonsense back to that Biafran shithole website,

ha ha

brother tinubu can never measure up to awolowo

awolowo never ever imposed his family or wife on anybody or state

the only wrong i know awolowo did in is life as a politician was to make series of investments in the bank he built (i think ebge omo odudua) in his wife's namemeaning he owned a bank and also made investment in it with people's money

this investment is still used by madam awolowo and afenefere today

apart from that, that is it

awolowo never did drugs

awolowo never imposed his family members on any body

awolowo never had this level of enemies tinubu has now

and i can continue on and on and on
Re: Bola Tinubu; I Am On A Crusade (video) by aribisala0(m): 7:58pm On Apr 08, 2011
tinubu and awolowo are different men in different times,
awolowo too had his own enemies who even succeeded in incarcerating him.
he was bamboozled at the elections 1964/5 1979 1983 .
he never resorted to violence but chose to pursue his struggle through the rule of law. noble but unsuccessful
tinubu's metaphor captures our nigeria quite aptly.
if you wrestle with a pig you will get stained.
wresting power away from those who would rule nigeria by do or die means requires a different set of competecies than awolowo had.
tinubu is street smart and was  able to  face off the blunt and brutish misuse of the federal might by obasanjo
he made lagos state the least dependent on allocations and endured sustained denial of funds by the FG
as the yoruba say omo buruku nko o lojo tie. even the scoundrel has his day.
i believe he has been a bulwark against the tyranny of the pdp and deserves commendation. clearly he has wrestled with herds of pigs and no one should be naive when saluting him.i am sure the people of lagos know very well what's up. truth be told, right now there is not a clearly better option

Gbawe:

This is anther great point you raise that highlights one of Tinubu's strenght that is missing in most politicians today. Tinubu lives and dies by his convictions, ideas and leadership principles. He rarely capitulated or flip-flopped and he did not followed the crowd or give in to political herd mentality . He stood by his initiatives resolutely in the belief they would pay dividends . They did most times and those not as visionary as him , who criticised him heavily, were often forced to swallow their vomit and copy what Tinubu innovated. As someone mentioned earlier , it would have been the easiest thing in the world for Tinubu to join the PDP. Yet he defied them because their evil and inhuman agenda was very obvious to him. He could not allow the PDP to dominate the SW region to engender a legacy of criminality, underdevelopment and indolence our beloved region may never recover from. It will take the North a long time to develop because Northern leaders have simply been the most negligent when it came to developing and empowering their people. That could easily be the fate of the SW region if OBJ is successful in placing the likes of Alao Akala everywhere unchecked and unchallenged.

One of my classic test for politician , to note their goodwill for Nigerians , is to look at their voluntary activities beyond office. Since leaving office in 2007 Tinubu has dedicated his time, energy and money to liberating the SW of the PDP's evil grip. I really respected his central role during the Ekiti Guber rerun that Yar Adua had declared a must-win-at-all-cost. Tinubu was on the ground battling fearlessly. Today Osun and Ekiti are ACN States. Most likely Ogun will be ACN too. We can then gain progressive , cooperative and interdependent governance of the SW region , for the sake of development , in the way politics was always meant to be played i.e with a greater focus on the development of Nigeria and Nigerians. I know that is Tinubu's plan he was never able to actualise in government because he was isolated as the "last man standing" against total PDP dominance. Any Yoruba person who does not appreciate what Tinubu has done or stands for is simply not looking at the big picture. OBJ , very scarily, would be the dominant overlord in the SW region now if not for Tinubu. Really scary prospect . A nightmare even.
