slam7000: Bahrain also earns far more than Nigeria. Bahrain produces 63889 barrels of oil per day for 1.65million people. Nigeria has 211 million peo[ple and lives on 2.3million barrels per day. Which translates to a percapita GDP of 23, 503 for Bahrain. Nigeria has a percapita GDP of 2,289 (all US dollars). Portugal and Spain have higher per capita GDP than Nigeria, and are actively exporting industrial countries. Nigeria relies on oil, and overimports, and due to fluctuations in the oil price is in debt. We could change all that, but the sad thing is both parties don't support polices that would change our economy from oil dependency to industrial and higher tax dependency |

Godarz: I’m talking about talent discovery, developing, nurturing and supporting the talents that you have. Kenya and Ethiopia are good in long distance races. Both countries do well at the top level. Are they economically better than Nigeria? Jamaica is good in athletics, are they richer than Nigeria? Cuba does well in boxing. Are they richer than Nigeria? |

slam7000: The athletes you mentioned left Nigeria because money. Even Kenya and Ethiopia have athletes leaving them for other countries Jamaica is economically better than Nigeria. Cuba spends a large chunk of its budget on sports. Thats why they do well. Also Nigeria is not a rich nation. Until our government gets us off our oil dependent state |
