It is obvious that the tiger Gov. Matawalle has been proudly tending and riding is about to consume him for lunch. It is even difficult to say on which side Matawalle is now.

This banditry problem started as a molehill but the governor's fraternal disposition has made it grown into a mountain.Treating bandits with fraternal empathy and sympathy as mere 'delinquent children' rather than terrorists emboldened them and now they have bought sophisticated arms and formed 'kidnap and ransom cooperative societies'. It is business for them. More like politicians steal public money, we get our share through ransoms. Chikenna!

A point of no return seems to have been reached. Creative solution is now needed.

If the Nothern Governors Forum fancy amnesty programme for bandits, they should stop footdragging and get on with it. Design a proper amnesty program that will disarm, document and contract the current bandits and their leaders as protectors of forests for a generous fee. In return, they will work with state governments to stop formation of more banditry groups.

Time is running out.

A blackmailer will always come back for more claims. How on earth can think of amnesty for criminals.

The bandits must labelled as terrorists and dealt with accordingly, this kid gloves treatment only embolden the bandits to organise large kidnap and demand for higher ransom.

Moreover it is an incentive for others to form kidnap groups and start operations.

Criminality must not be rationalise in anyway they must be destroyed.
