in as much as there is nothing to this, almost all states in the US have state songs aswell. The difference is that theirs is in a uniform language, but ours would be in various languages which somehow tilts towards imposition while deepening the cracks of division.

The "imposition" is the current one you recite today. What the governor recommends is literally "redemption song" in the words of Bob Marley. This new anthem will then free us from the current imposed one, which is not in our language but ,unfortunately, now looks normal. But there's a difference between something being normal and being natural.

The anthem recommended by the governor is the original, correct, natural one but our African brains have been turned upside down that we have accepted normality as natural, and therefore, we can't get out perception right. What a pity that we have accepted authority as the truth instead of the truth as authority.

And please spare me the talks about America. We are not Americans!!. We are Africans!!.

If this is true, i commend Akeredolu, you did well. Far more better than reciting the zoo anthem.

South East and south south Governors should emulate this too.

See i am not hyping o...but have you ever listen to BIAFRA ANTHEM before? the composer and the tune giver of that anthem deserves nothing but a special place in God's right hand side in heaven.
What a great piece. The anthem is full of patriotism, hope, Joy and above all so EMOTIONAL. If you're an emotional person, there's no way you won't shade tears when listening to the anthem. That's how a sensible anthem should be unlike the zoo anthem

Second, third and fourth stanzas the burst head i swear

Hail to Biafra, consecrated nation,
O fatherland, this be our solemn pledge:
Defending thee shall be a dedication,
Spilling our blood we’ll count a privilege;
The waving standard which emboldens the free
Shall always be our flag of liberty.

We shall emerge triumphant from this ordeal,
And through the crucible unscathed we’ll pass;
When we are poised the wounds of battle to heal,
We shall remember those who died in mass;
Then shall our trumpets peal the glorious song
Of victory we scored o’er might and wrong.

Oh God, protect us from the hidden pitfall,
Guide all our movements lest we go astray;
Give us the strength to heed the humanist call:
To give and not to count the cost’ each day;
Bless those who rule to serve with resoluteness,
To make this clime a land of righteousness.

Lol. Biafra anthem in English??

This is not a state song, but a tribal song/yoruba song. Osun has emulated it since Aregbesola's days. And it's uniform across all SW states.

Really?
I'm not sure, I think what they have is an individual state anthem

it's not individual. It's uniform. The song has been in existence during the time of Awolowo.

Ise wa fun ile wa
Fun ile ibi wa
K' agbega, kagbega
K'agbega fayeri

.igbagbo wa niwipe
B'ati b'eru l'abomo
K'asise k'asise
K'asise kajola

Isokan ata'ominira,
Ni kâ'eje kâ'ama lepa,
Tesiwaju, fâ'opo ire
A tâ'ohun to dara

Omo odua dide
Bosi ipo eto re
Iwo ni, imole
Gbogbo adulawo.

Aketi doesn't disappoint. My respect for him has been long, from the time of being NBA's boss and Father Christmas ( lol).

Very commendable and other regions must emulate immediately especially SE/SS.

We go dey let Yorubas to first TEST RUN things, not that they are more intelligent or more innovative than others but because they get more sympathy/friendship from the North than others. If na SE/SS try am, dem go quickly despatch army there saying we want to secede.

Our governors from the South must unite and begin to give us RESTRUCTURING, we are tired of waiting for our Senators.

Between, Aketi has nothing to lose this is his 2nd term in office....APC will somewhat be 'disappointed' in his several initiatives for his state.

@the bolded, try to read about the regional government and you will see that the Western region are always the first to innovate and roll our policies that other regions eventually copy.

Right from inception, the Western Region have always been the innovative and forward thinking region and this present era is just an example of how it has always been.

However these current Corp of SW governors have dropped the ball and set the bar low than it was during the days or Pa Awolowo, but ko kin tan lara omo oba ko ma ku dansaki.
