If you base your appointment as IGP on 2020 police Acts, then you are not qualified to occupy the office of IGP. The Act says inter-alia " that a person to be appointed to the office of IGP MUST have at least 4 years remaining to his retirement". There fore, taking into consideration, the 2020 police Act, you have barely a year to your retirement as at 1 February, 2022. There you are not qualified to occupy the office. Relinquish the office.

From m all the comments here above, no one has been able to argue sentively along the lines of law. Everyone is busy abusing the IGP for whatever reason. The problem is that our laws are flawed that's why government officials disregard and disobey them.
We should wait for counter submission from the plaintive lawyer so we could weigh both arguments and balance them.
