It was an auspicious and propitious moment of fanfare and official beginning of new era as Chapel of Redemption Gospel Band, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, elected new set of executives to man the affairs of the Band for the next one year.

The well-attended election which held on Saturday, March 19, 2020 attracted both present and erstwhile members of the Band, and also produced the first female president of the band, in the person of Miss Chibuzor Uchendu.

Addressing the members of the Band, the representatives of the Chapel Council, Mr. Ejikeme Okeke and Mr Chuka Awunor reminded them that their service in the Chapel Band as music ministers is to God, and hence, should be done as such, with every ardency and fervency.

While appreciating the immediate-past executives for their service in the Band, the duo also urged the members to accord greater support to the new administration, even as they advised the new administration to walk with God and work in love and unity, have team spirit, give their best in the service, and generally move the Chapel Band to a greater and enviable height.

In her acceptance speech and maiden address on behalf of her fellow excos, the newly elected President, Miss Chibuzor Uchendu who confessed that she was neither expecting a nomination nor her emergence as the Band President, appreciated the members for massively participating in the election and for entrusting them with their mandate to steer the affairs of the Band.

While assuring that she and her fellow executives would do their possible best to take the Band to a greater echelon, both spiritually, numerically ministration wise and otherwise; Miss Uchendu who is also an Architect and the former Vice President in the immediate-past administration, enjoined band members members to always support and pray for them, so as to have a very successful and, possibly, an impeccable administration.

Other members of the newly elected executives include Akachi Orji (the Vice President and immediate-past Stage Manager); Ifeoma Agu (Secretary), Ifeanyi Cyril (Stage Manager and immediate-past President of the Band); Anusiem Chidiebube Godwill (Assistant Stage Manager); Gift David Chinenye (Treasurer); Izunna Okafor (P.R.O.)

According to section 8(i) of the Chapel of Redemption Band Constitution, as amended; this set of excos will man the affairs of the Band for the next one year, with a prime target to consummately hoist it to a higher rung in the ladder of greatness.
