The gossip on board says Wizkid has dropped out of school in pursuit of his musical career. Wizkid whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is a student of the Leedcity University. The 200 level student of International Relations stated in a recent interview that he could not continue with his school studies as it gave him less concentration on his musical career. Though he promised to go back to school sometime in the future He started off his singing career at the early age of 11(Eleven) in church under the name Lil Prinz before rebranding in 2006 from being an inspirational act to secular artiste and ever since then, his being able to carve a niche for himself in the industry. When would we learn that its not all about a 'degree', some of us were better off with just an ssce degree and find a vocation. If the young man has found his calling and believes its what he wants to be then let him be, rather we should expect him to strive to be the best at what he wants to do, maybe even go to a musical school and some theater training with his musical skills. Very good decision, and i congratulate him for this. He will be able to focus on his career. The boy is still young, if he needs the degree in future he can go for it. This is his time, and i will advice him to make good use of the opportunity. If he becomes a glo ambassador, there is no way he can combine music with his studies. The university is always there, and he can go back whenever he is ready. |
