At least in Abuja one can drill borehole and easily get water unlike the suffering of residents of Enugu where you can't get water even if you drill to the core of the earth! To have a water truck company in Enugu is akin to owning an oil well in Rivers State. Ugwuanyi should do something about this. Businesses like hotels are spending so much of their overhead costs on buying water.

Nobody seems to have drawn attention to the vandals who stole critical equipment that is causing the problem. Everyone is blaming the government. Yet it is ordinary people who allowed themselves to be used to vandalize equipment meant for the common good.

ABUJA FCT has joined the likes of ENUGU STATE that is experiencing severe water shortages.

Politicians in Nigeria do not think or make plan be it contigency plan or any other plan.

As the money comes in they squander the money, mismanage the money and use it for other elephant project forgeting the pressing needs of the people or the masses.

Go to Edo state ( Edo north ) places like Igarra, Ekpoma, Auchi, Irrua, Aviele, Sabongidda Ora etc it is a case of serious water problems.

States in the core north is even worse despite receiving federal allocations sourced from crude oil money for several years.

Re: Water Scarcity Hits Abuja by matrixme(m): 12:30pm On Mar 26, 2021
where is this fake news coming from? It's impossible for water to be scarce on Abuja. There are mai ruwas all around the surbubs begging to deliver water from bore holes every morning. Highest per truck in any location is 300. Infact, they have even cheated the person self, cos is usually 250 for for full truck

Sahara Reporters should take time to do credible reporting instead of stirring the public to panic
There was a damaged joint in the network that was initially thought could be repaired but failed to hold up, so the Minister had to give an immediate order for the joint to be air freighted from Europe cuz it cannot be sourced elsewhere
Meanwhile the Minister and the Agency responsible is still working on seeing if the damaged joint can be repaired again and put back into service pending the arrival of the part from Europe.
Also, parts of the City is being serviced from the Plants 1 & 2 but some major parts of the City is without water for the time being.
The Minister is doing everything possible to tackle this problem with staff of the Agency having sleepless nights trying to see how the scarcity can be alleviated

drilling water is much easier in the east than the north, but once water stops flowing in ur tap direction everything will lockup, u can't predict

Heard it this morning on the news and could not believe it.

The spokesman or whatever said the delay was caused by a component being expected from France amidst the Covid transportation challenges.

Can you imagine that the water supply to Capital City of the most populous nation in Africa is grounded because of this. And the man was counring on 'God' to see it come through in the next 24 hours.

Now if you talk about insecurity or strategic independence you can see how our leaders think and act. You can see that if France or the EU wants to harm us, it doesn't need to fire a single shot in anger.

You can all see.the future of the to be rehabilitated Port Harcourt refinery in the hands of a plan less, ignorant and totally inept government and why critical sectors should not be placed in their hands or left to their monopoly.

My area has been having running, epileptic water supply since December last year despite repeated assurances and I guess this is so because there is just no incentive to perform.

They said last week it would be 3 days of disruption to the water supply.
It's now 1 week and no end in sight.
During a pandemic in which regular hand washing is encouraged to limit the spread of the virus.
And the same authorities will be bringing environmental board bill, tenement rates, and other sundries.
It's beyond useless ; it's shambolic.

Not only Edo North. Even places in Edo South like Usen suffer from severe water shortage problems. Most of the wells are dry and the people use dirty water for daily activities.

Come to Edo state there has never been a ything like water board as most homes and houses have bore hole.

Remember back in the day before relocating to benin from Home state the then Governor always makes sure water was available with hundreds of tankers ferrying water to every nook and cranny of Gombe state and no town or village in any local government areas were left out. Had so much respect for Gone as he had the people's interest at heart.
Wish present crop of governors can emulate him.
