On a serious note, northern leaders have brainwashed northern children. They have refused to educate them, deceiving them into thinking that education is western and contravenes Islamic or Sharia law, whichever is applicable.

I schooled in Jos and traveled across the north, and way too many children are not educated but only go to Islamic schools to learn the Quran. The North has so many people who don't even understand English. I know that English is not their traditional tongue, but the truth is that English is the language through which we communicate, and a lot of our instructional materials are written in English. So not speaking English is indicative of illiteracy and lack of education.

Northerners have used religion to blind sight Northern children. I hope this trend changes so that future children can think for themselves and will have the necessary tools to help them make an informed decision as to whom they should vote for, rather than wait for an imam to tell the person for whom they should vote.

I think Jaaiztech is right. You just voted the establishment back into power as they are definitely more comfortable under GEJ.

And yes, they wanted GEJ to step down for a northerner BUT WHICH NORTHERNER? Buhari? Definitely NOT! They wanted one of their own - Atiku. And you must know that the results show some powerful people worked against GMB in this election even in the north as the "almagiri" mentality would never allow GEJ win against GMB in Nassarawa or do so well in Katsina against Buhari without "inside" help.

JaaizTech:

Some of you really don't understand Nigerian politics, it would be easier for Ciroma, IBB, ATIKU, and other big northern politicians to thrive under GEJ than under Buhari. PDP is a caucus of Northern, eastern and western Nigerian thieves. So if you think you have voted out the northern PDP caucus, then you are mistaken you just voted them back into power.
^Dude. I am from the "North" and I understand quite clearly the deceit of the "northern" leaders over the past 50 years. Some questions for you:
1) Why did the Middle-Belt vote overwhelmingly for GEJ?
2) What are people like Tanimu Kurfi, Sayyad Abba Ruma, Abacha etc doing in Buhari's team
3) Why were IBB, Atiku, Gusau involved in attempts to force through a Northern consensus candidate between Ribadu, Buhari and Shekarau. Why not a Nigerian consensus candidate.
4) Why was M.K.O. Abiola denied the presidency?
5) Why was GEJ humiliated during Yar'Adua's extended illness to the point of provoking a constitutional crisis that threatened the unity of this nation.

You may chose to be selective in remembering the past, but we in the Middle-Belt remember the betrayals and pain and our people who have been killed and we will never forget.

Nigerians have voted, and God only gives you what you deserve. We have another four years of PDP - it is our choice. May the almighty send his wrath down on anyone who complains or abuses this government for the next four years. We made our bed, so we lay on it as it is, so help us God.

Watch NTA now and see how SS+SE are being trashed for being sectional, religious bigot, suspicious of electoral frauds, less politically matured compared to North and SW. Imaging SS+SE turning out 95-98% number of registered voters while other region are doing between 40 and 65%.

We all now know the master of rigging.

Nigerian politics has been historically corrupt. The main ideological difference is that you see corruption through the party lens, while majority see it through the northern mafia lens, and they are justified in doing so. Buhari is a northern candidate who is campaigning under the CPC flag for political reasons. Buhari owes allegiance, first, to the north, and second, to Nigerians.  CPC is pretty much an off shoot of PDP, and they are all corrupt.

We see Jonathan as a different person from his PDP party-mates, and that was why they protested against his decision to contest for president. They knew he would change. Had Yaradua not died, do you think Goodluck would have been made the PDP candidate? Hell nah!
God had a hand in this.

And I am sure Jonathan will privatize PHCN and deregulate the power sector, which Northerners do not want, because they fear that stable electricity will catapult the economies of the southern states, since we are not restrained by Sharia law.

Also if they were comfortable under PDP, why did they oppose his reelection campaign and field their own northern consensus candidate by way of Atiku, who ended up losing to GEJ?

And why did the northerners subsequently endorse Buhari ahead of Goodluck. Don't think you can fool Nigerians anymore. This is not business as usual.

I guess you are just angry that SS and SE votes overwhelmed the Northern votes inspite of the massive registration of underaged voters or that this time around our fishes were more than your cows.

Re: Presidential Election, 16th April, 2011 by goggs(m): 10:42pm On Apr 17, 2011
One of the reasons Buhari lost alot of votes is that many non muslims especially in the North (minorities) see him as a leader of the faith. having suffered a great deal from intolerant and violent people masquerading as muslims, many minorities in the north are fearful of him even though he represents the squeaky clean leader they crave for.

Tried as i could, i couldnt get many of my folks to vote Buhari. I, unfortunately, felt bad when some hausa boys in my polling unit in Kubwa, Abuja were talking tough and making it sound as though the voting (for CPC) was war against non muslims. I really, really felt bad. Then I got two text messages forwarded urging a vote for CPC representing as a duty for muslims. that was the straw that broke the camels back. I promptly thumb printed for Ribadu (ACN).

I felt bad afterwards. I should have still voted Buhari and not be swayed by such childish sentiments. Only God knows how many of us faced this dilemma and capitulated.

We may have lost the best man due to these factors. Anyway, any man Nigerians choose as president will be my president and will join any lawful action(s) to make the nation move forward and  also make him accountable to us

I saw this on BB fan page and i couldnt stop laughing.

"Gen deserve rest. i think he shd render his service to the country in another way, however, i stand on my point that pastor didnt do much beside talking. no effect in his home town Abeokuta. i work there'
grin grin grin

I asked that question after the NASS election. What was the point of choosing someone without political infuluence jsut because of religious reason.

The same mistake MCcain made

Sweet T:

They are adding up all the SE numbers so they know how much it will take to put Buhari over the top. Boy o boy, Ibo people has shown the north Pepper over the jos attack. Payback is a mother4cker!.
Even if they give all the votes in taraba for BB, it won't change nada.
But considering that BB won only in sharia practsising states, a state that had a Rev as a gov may not lean towards him.

And BTW, Buhari did not do much in the south which was a wrong calculation. He has the core north in his boxer pocket I wonder why most of his parties were there.

Do you know how many times Goodluck went to Lagos?

Since this has become more of na ma broda in faith, tongue or region, Taraba, Benue, Plateau are states in the North likely to go to Jonathan.

With wat I am seeing Jonathan doesn't even need the results from these states to win

The results from Benue, plateau and Kogi have are already known and GEJ have them under his belt.

The only result not known to anyone last time I checked is Taraba!
