Mehn, all these big figures for CPC is scaring me. I think the NC is the beautiful bribe of this election, since it has turned to a North/South thing. We are still a long way to go if this is how people vote. I pray for Jonathan. It will be a disgrace losing as a sitting President. |

Freegaza (what a namea), that is an interesting result. Shows that those people are voting for the individuals not parties. Just like Lagos. |

Pataki: I don't think it's a secret that many in the SS and SE has been in support of Jonathan for a while now. The results will probably show what we have suspected for a long time, even though we have mostly attributed it to rigging for the longest, and that is that the SE and SS belong to the PDP. |

I think we can safely declare 90% of the registered voters of SS/SE in favour of GEJ, balance it with the result you get in the North. The SW actually has given the victory to GEJ. IMO. |

Written by Abdullahi Tasiu Abubakar, Yola Saturday, 16 April 2011 18:52 General Muhammadu Buhari, the CPC presidential candidate, won both the polling unit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and that of ACN presidential candidate Malam Nuhu Ribadu in the Presidential election in Yola, Adamawa State capital. Buhari got 260 votes at Bako Ward (Unit at the Aliyu Musdafa Primary School in Yola town, the polling unit of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, who trailed with 85 votes. President Goodluck Jonathan received 64 votes to come third. At the Ajiya 2 polling unit where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar voted, General Buhari secured 306 votes to President Jonathan’s 81 votes; Nuhu came distance third here with 9 votes. Although Atiku who lost to Jonathan in PDP primaries is still a member of the party, sources said he has more sympathy for Buhari than for Jonathan whom he accused of violating PDP zoning policy and appropriating its presidential ticket. Voting in the state capital was generally peaceful and orderly, but many complained of low voters’ turn out and few cases of missing names in voters’ register. However, outside the state capital there were reports of violence and allegations of rigging. There was a report of violence in Lafiar-Lamurde in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state, where a polling unit, Kofar Tsohon Sarkin Lafia (Unit 6), was said to have been burnt down over attempt to stuff ballot boxes for a particular party favoured by the government. There was also a report of the burning of the house of a state government official in Jada Local Government Area of the state when people allegedly caught some election staff stuffing ballot boxes in the house. One female staff of the commission has been arrested. Police decline to confirm any of the two cases of violence saying that they were still awaiting reports from the areas. The state commissioner of police Abubakar Musa Daura has however confirmed the arrest of the female staff. He said they are investigating the matter to uncover the persons behind the alleged ballot stuffing. Daily Trust Newspaper. |

OAM4J: I initially thought the SW would decide this election, but I strongly think it would be the NC Buhari looks good to go with the 13 states of the NW and NE, while Jonathan is likely to have the 17 states of SW, SE and SS. The remaining 6 states of the NC will decide the winner. |

Actually, GEJ has already won. He needed support from 2 out of the big 3 in Nigeria. GEJ got his support from both Igbos and Yoruba. Buhari gets his support mainly from the Hausa-Fulani. |

EzeUche: True but if NC falls to Buhari's side, there will likely be a runoff. GEJ needs to get so much more from SW if he is to survive outright. I believe at the end of the day, the winner's margin will be very small. |
